What you’ll do

  • As a member of the Epic Audio Team focusing on Special Projects, you will use your creative and technical skills to their fullest, helping define the future of interactive audio content and technology.

In this role, you will

  • Help Special Projects achieve audio excellence in all areas of audio in Epic interactive experiences and related technologies.
  • Promote the development of audio features for future Unreal audio engine development in both virtual production and interactive experiences.
  • Promote Unreal Engine as a leader in the interactive audio space by developing and sharing cutting edge creative and technical audio techniques with the broader interactive experience development community.

What we’re looking for

  • A seasoned audio veteran with a proven track record of creating compelling industry leading audio experiences in games and linear media, with excellent knowledge and understanding of audio post-production and video game development processes.
  • Demonstrated ability to create best in class sounds across various styles and aesthetics.
  • Mastery over the entire sound creation process from field/studio recording, editing, designing, to implementation, debugging, and runtime systems.
  • Previous experience in Research and Development, or multiple full cycles of pre-production through ship on a AAA scale game.
  • Passionate About Games: Should be able to talk about and deconstruct other current games’ audio quality and implementation.
  • Experience implementing complex interactive audio systems, preferably in multiple engines/middlewares.
  • You’re user-focused, passionate, scrappy, solutions-focused, and innovative. These traits equal success at Epic and influence everything we do

Nice to have skills

  • Music skills are a plus, as we frequently are creating experiences with heavy use of musical elements.
  • Programming skills beyond runtime scripting are a big plus, but not required.

Remaining knowledge, skills, and abilities needed

Strong self-management, organizational and problem solving skills, ability to work independently while having a great team player attitude
