Start Date: ASAP

Seniority Level: Senior

Contract Type: Fixed Term Employment, until January 2027

Project: Witchspire

## About the role

We're looking for a Senior 3D Environment Artist to join our project Witchspire and help create high quality environments and assets for our games. You'll own environment work from blockout through to final implementation, creating everything from 3D models and materials to textures and set dressing.

You'll work closely with Art, Game Design, Level Design, Technical Art, Programming and Production to make sure environments not only look great, but also support gameplay and meet the technical requirements of an open world game.

This is a hands on role for someone who takes ownership of their work, communicates proactively, and cares about both the big picture and the tiny details. You'll also have the opportunity to support other Environment Artists, share feedback, and help improve the workflows and best practices we use across the team.

This is an in house position, and candidates must be able to work on site in Stockholm, Sweden.

The position is initially offered as a fixed term contract until January 2027, with the possibility of an extension.

## Responsibilities

- Own the creation of complex environment assets and areas from blockout through to final implementation.
- Create high quality 3D models, materials, textures and set dressing.
- Work closely with Game Design and Level Design to ensure environments support gameplay and player experience.
- Collaborate with Technical Art and Programming to make sure assets meet technical and performance requirements.
- Review and improve environment work to maintain a high level of visual quality and consistency across the game.
- Proactively communicate progress, dependencies and blockers with the team.
- Support and give feedback to other Environment Artists when needed.
- Help improve environment workflows, tools and best practices.
- Maintain clear and up to date documentation.
- Use company tools and systems to manage work and collaborate effectively.
- Attend and actively contribute to relevant meetings.
- Help maintain organized and efficient ways of working across the studio.

## What we're looking for

- 5 years of professional experience as a 3D Environment Artist in game development.
- Strong 3D modelling, texturing, materials and set dressing skills.
- Strong understanding of real time environment art pipelines.
- Ability to optimize assets for performance without compromising visual quality.
- Professional experience with Unreal Engine.
- Experience with Maya
- Experience with Substance 3D Painter and/or Designer.

## Why Join Envar?

If you want to have a real impact on the worlds and environments of a game, this is an opportunity to do exactly that.

You'll work closely with artists, designers, programmers and other developers in a collaborative game studio where Environment Art plays an important role in shaping both the visual identity and player experience.

If creating beautiful, functional game environments, solving interesting production challenges, and working with a team that cares about the craft sounds like your kind of challenge, we'd love to hear **from you.**
