Remember AddictingGames.com in the good 'ol days? And we're not only doing recreational games now, but educational as well and we have become part of Enthusiast Gaming along the way. We focus on both creation of new games with our in-house developers and continued development on our existing products.

We are looking for people to join our Edmonton/North America team in building exciting, dynamic products across our ever growing collection of products. While we are hoping to build our Edmonton technology team we are flexible on location if you're a great fit for the position. We are a company that believes in balance, flexibility, communication and helping you make the best use of your time. With half our team based in Los Angeles, written communication and willingness to adopt processes to communicate progress and feedback is important.

Addicting Games is in need of a Manual Software Tester - someone who finds satisfaction in breaking things so that they can be fixed, as well as verifying that features have been implemented according to specifications. A willingness to follow your intuition when testing to find oversights and uncover unexpected issues, as well as excitement to test a variety of projects (small and large games, websites) is a plus.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough and accurate software testing and provide approvals during development. This can be anything from daily games, io games, and websites.
  • Identify, analyze, and document defects, questionable functions, and inconsistencies in software
  • Ensure features meet the defined acceptance criteria
  • Document software defects in Jira in a manner that developers can reproduce easily

Experience and Qualifications:

  • 2+ years software quality assurance experience
  • Proven ability to efficiently write effective test cases that provide in depth coverage of functionality
  • Experience working with teams to analyze and contribute ideas to product discussions, designs and decisions and understand product requirements to ensure that they are implemented correctly
  • Experience required in implementing test practices and standard, and establishing measures of product readiness.
  • Strong planning and organizational skills involving executing on multiple priorities using strong time management skills
  • A self directed work ethic with good attention to detail

Nice-to-Haves:

  • QA certification
  • Experience with Atlassian products (JIRA, Confluence)
  • Examples of QA work out in the wild (open source projects, etc)
