Software Engineering Team Lead - Stream Deck

The Elgato Stream Deck is the premier control device for most of the world’s most popular streamers and online content creators. We are looking for an Engineering Team Lead for our software engineers who will lead our core development team. In this position you will use your creativity, ingenuity, and full skill set to contribute directly to the industry leading software that powers Stream Deck and the SDK used by our 3rd party plugin developers.

What you will be working on

  • You will lead the team of software engineers who make Stream Deck the market leading control product for the world’s premier streamers
  • You will take an active role refining, organising and prioritising features for the Stream Deck road map
  • You will organise development tasks in the team and guide their implementation and releases
  • You will manage the team of software engineers and play the leading role in their mentoring, personal development and training.
  • You will be first point of contact between product management, project planning, QA and engineering
  • You will assist on planning the future of the Stream Deck ecosystem and ensure our engineering teams are equipped to deliver this
  • You can also develop cross-platform macOS and Windows desktop applications in C++ and Qt yourself
  • Contribute to products that are highly loved by our customers and share in their delight at your work

What we are looking for

  • University degree in computer science, software engineering, or equivalent education or professional experience
  • You will have a background in streaming or content creation, or an interest in the art, and be able to create magical user experiences in software products
  • Experience leading teams of software engineers ideally in mixed language projects for desktop macOS and Windows
  • You will have delivered successful software applications and be able to mentor the team to repeat this
  • Ideally you will have experience in C++ programming and developing desktop applications; Qt, Python 3.x and JavaScript experience is beneficial
  • You will be focused on producing quality products and know how to ensure software engineers can deliver these – we are looking for analytical ability and an attention to detail
  • You will be a confident communicator and have proven technical and people leadership ability
  • Fluency in both written and spoken English; German skills are an advantage.
