EA is looking for a highly motivated & experienced Virtualization and cloud Engineer with a strong understanding of cloud computing and Virtual technologies. You should provide support of complex systems running VMware vSphere v7x and infrastructure/applications hosted on AWS/Azure.

  • You will assist in the development and modernization of our software products.

  • You must be proficient with microservices architecture and container platforms leveraging Kubernetes and Docker containers

  • Must have 8+ years of progressive, technical experience. You must function with limited direction and guidance.

  • Must be able to work in a team environment, demonstrate leadership skills, follow established business processes and procedures, prepare knowledge documentation SOP's, and perform changes and preventative maintenance to ensure the smooth day-to-day operation of EA's computing environment.

  • Acting as an SME (Subject Matter Expert) for the support teams responsible for maintaining a scalable and resilient infrastructure to support the needs of teams across EA

  • Acting as SME for the operation of resilient distributed systems that run across multiple data Center and cloud providers

  • Directly influence our journey towards zero-touch, highly scalable, reliable infrastructure.

  • Direct involvement in incidents or problems that cause service impact and act as escalation point for incidents that impact Virtualization and Cloud infrastructure platforms

  • Automate, optimize and drive efficiency of effort, code, and process.

  • Resolve complex technical issues and drive innovations that improve system availability, resilience, and performance.

  • Create, maintain and share technical documentation used by engineers and other team members.

  • Provide mentorship to other team members and partner with other SMEs across the organization

  • Training and completing knowledge transfer sessions with appropriate other teams within IT Operations

Skills/Experience

  • The experience of a 24x7 production operations environment, preferably supporting a highly available environment for a large multinational organization.

  • Experience deploying and managing resources in AWS or Azure or Google cloud platforms in a production setting.

  • Expert knowledge of Virtualization Technologies and associated services (specifically VMware, VMware on Cloud, skyline, and VROPS)

  • ESXi infra-Management (Virtual Machines, VMTools, Migrations, backups, templates etc.)

  • ESXi hosts Security updates and Virtual Machine HW version updates

  • Upgrade – ESXi, vCenter appliance

  • Experience with orchestration tools that support the automated delivery of enterprise platforms

  • Good knowledge of scripting languages such as Python, PowerShell and BASH etc.

  • Experience working in a hybrid environment of cloud and on-premise enterprise applications

  • Experience with Infrastructure automation tools like terraform, vault, nomad and sentinel

  • Design, build & maintain large scale high performing, secure Kubernetes and other application platform infrastructure on AWS & Azure

  • Experience with AWS monitoring and alerting tools.

  • Experience with Docker and Kubernetes experience / AWS EKS in a production setting. Experience containerizing applications, deploying, and maintaining them

  • Experience migrating on-prem infrastructure to cloud.

  • Knowledge of AWS IaaS and PaaS services.

  • Experience with enterprise-level applications and cloud-based services, in AWS, Azure, Google

  • Strong understanding of system and networking concepts and troubleshooting techniques.

  • Strong communication and coordination skills with different teams within IT

  • Strong interpersonal and teaming skills - ability to set and enforce process and influence engineers who are not direct reports

  • Ability to operate in an agile and dynamic environment

  • Ability to multi-task, managing multiple tasks at one time; quickly and accurately shifting attention among multiple tasks under distracting conditions without loss of accuracy.

  • Demonstrated ability to quickly resolve the incidents and upkeep the service availability.

  • Ability to articulate end-to-end technical requirements across delivery functions.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication, interpersonal, conflict resolution and customer service skills.

  • Able to analyze complex cross-functional and cross-platform issues.

  • Good capabilities around capacity planning and analysis.

  • Knowledge of ITIL process

  • Able to define process improvements.

  • Understands systems dependencies and interrelation to the business.

  • Professionalism in dealing with all levels of management and staff.

Value Add:

  • Enterprise Linux systems Management using RedHat Satellite and Ansible Tower

  • Strong admin and troubleshooting skills to manage Linux systems (LVM, users and Group management, NFS, web services like apache and tomcat, kernel upgrade etc.)

  • Experience with Linux and/or Unix Systems administration tools and frameworks/tools (such as Ansible, Chef, Puppet, etc)

  • VMware certified would be an advantage

  • AWS Certified Professional preferred

  • ITIL Certification would be an advantage

  • Redhat Linux Certification
