What does a Technical Artist do?

As a Technical Artist, you will report to our Content Manager and work with our Engineering team on the development of tooling and pipeline solutions that ensure our production partners are getting the best possible production solutions. As a member of this team, you'll help make our development process more creator-centric by serving as a link between engineers and game creators.

What we're looking for

You are a Technical Artist with a technical understanding of game engine pipelines and development issues. You understand the general workflows of most game systems, focused around rendering, performance, asset management and world building solutions. You're comfortable working with a team of engineers to help solve complex issues that maintain the growth of real-time engine development

You Will

  • Collaborate with game teams and other technical artists to create representative test assets for Frostbite

  • Work with Frostbite system test technical leads and engineers to maintain our test assets, supporting performance & memory regression

  • Identify and upgrade game assets to latest Frostbite features as they become available

You Will Need

  • A Developers understanding of game engine systems and an Artists perspective on tools and workflows

  • 3+ years of experience with existing real-time game engine workflows

  • Experience communicating issues and ideas with a wide range of disciplines from artists, engineers, technical directors and engineering managers

  • Proficiency in Python and C# (C++ is a bonus but not required)

  • Experience with Digital Content Creation (DCC) tools

  • Experience debugging technical issues, and documenting issues and outcomes
