Become a foundational part of an ambitious, respectful and diverse team as we are looking for a Senior Technical Animator, with a strong focus on building next generation animation pipelines, to be the backbone for a highly ambitious AAA open world action RPG with an emphasis on procedural stories.

The Senior Technical Animator will collaborate with the Technical Art Director and tools team, to explore cutting edge techniques and emerging technologies to ultimately create and drive our procedural characters and stories. They will work with the other technical directors to establish and maintain the processes and pipelines to help bring our next generation characters to life.

Responsibilities:

  • Researching current state of the art technologies around realtime character animation systems, and in collaboration with the tools and pipeline teams, implementing these technologies.
  • Work with the rest of the Technical Directors on building and maintaining the tools and pipeline around both run time animation systems and external character workflows.
  • Identify both short and long term needs around personnel and content resources based on initial prototyping and execution of the animation and character pipelines..
  • Contribute to all areas of the animation pipeline, including real time animation systems, character setup and rigging.
  • Understand the needs of the character art and animation teams and collaborate with them to support and evolve the character pipeline and workflows.

Qualifications:

  • Shipped at least one successful AAA title with a focus on Animation and Character pipelines.
  • Knowledge of next-gen game animation systems architecture.
  • Experience and understanding of run-time Animation graph techniques - State machines, Blend Trees, Blendspaces and Procedural Animation constructions.
  • Experience with keyframe animation and motion capture data, animation principles and body mechanics.
  • Strong knowledge of Coding and/or Scripting. (C++, C#, Python, Blueprints), to be able to read and update game code and scripts.
  • A love of building complex, while also easy to use, animation systems.
