We are looking for a talented DevOps Engineer to join our team. We're looking for candidates with high energy, dedication, and passion for technology. You will need to have senior experience as to help ensure a seamless partner experience. You will help analyze deployment strategies, improve automation efforts and help engineers with their pipelines. You will report to the Development Director based in Vancouver, and work with both onsite and offsite supportive colleagues and partners, as part of a distributed team.

Requirements

  • Directly support engineering environments, through all stages of development
  • Perform OS configuration and management
  • Develop scripting and productivity enhancing tools for automation of system administration tasks
  • Maintain documentation of systems configurations and procedures, including runbooks for live support
  • Support an "always-on" network infrastructure
  • Troubleshoot and correct issues raised from production and live services operations
  • Troubleshoot application, network, and server-level problems
  • Evaluate and adopt technologies which improve the team efficiency and platform capabilities
  • Work with our team and others to implement technologies and provide support within a follow the sun model.:

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited education institution in computer engineering, computer science, information systems or equivalent
  • 7+ years of experience with relevant Windows and Linux environments
  • Very familiar in DevOps methodologies and technologies: Docker and Kubernetes (Rancher) are important, Chef is not.
  • Familiar with configuration management practices (Ansible, Chef, and Puppet)
  • Familiar with On-Cloud deployment strategies and practices.
  • Familiar with Microservices architecture (Service Mesh)
  • Working knowledge of the following scripting languages: PowerShell, Groovy, Jenkinsfile
  • Working knowledge of the following technologies: ELK stack and MongoDB.
  • Experience with application deployment by using CI/CD (Jenkins, GitLab)
  • Working knowledge of distributed source control such as Git within GitLab.
  • Alerting systems (Zabbix) may be more important that reporting tools (Kibana), but both are useful.
