We are looking for an experienced Senior Cinematic Artist with a background creating high-quality 3D work to join our accomplished marketing cinematics team in Vancouver. You’ll need to have specific experience in look development, lighting, concept art, modelling and texturing work. VFX skills are a plus.

Key Criteria

  • Experience producing world class assets
  • Experience with game development frameworks and methodologies
  • Experience with real-time workflows and the technical hurdles/limitations associated
  • Display effective problem-solving skills to work efficiently between engines and the challenges that arise within tight deadlines Responsibilities:
  • Work with the Creative Director to explore look development, concept art and paintovers for cinematic trailers.
  • Create unique, high-quality environment, vehicle, character and prop assets. Also will up the quality of select game assets.
  • Design artist workflows for real-time lighting, and document technical settings for achieving maximum rendering quality.
  • Collaborate with our technical art team to develop shaders and exploit rendering features of real-time engines.
  • Work with the Creative Director on post production, including color grading, camera and lens effects.
  • Collaborate with external vendor studio art teams, providing training and direction.

Qualifications

  • Expert knowledge of Maya and realtime software (i.e. UE4, Unity, Frostbite)
  • Experience using Photoshop, Mari and Substance Painter for shading and texturing.
  • Lighting and shader development with realtime software (Arnold, VRay, Mantra is a plus).
  • Color grading techniques and software (i.e. Resolve).
  • Basic knowledge of editing software (Premiere, After Effects).
  • Comfortable working in an environment that values collaboration. Would be a plus:
  • Experience developing custom tools for Digital content creation (DCC)
  • Knowledge of high-level coding language. (Python, C#, C++)
  • Experience within a game engine(Unreal, Frostbite)
