Senior Character Rigging Artist
EA Create is a collective of content production teams partnering with EA Studios game teams to bring outstanding visuals, audio and technology to life. Our teams comprise of artists, engineers, technicians, designers and development directors. Worldwide, we combine our teams to form a global group of extraordinary individuals fueled by imagination and a unified passion for creating amazing visuals, sound and experiences. The Rigging team works closely with a variety of Game Team partners to build systems to accomplish production needs, create game content (body deformation, facial rigging, cloth/hair simulation, animation control systems), and expand our internal pipelines while pushing quality and shipping a diverse array of titles.
Responsibilities:
Ownership of assigned deliverables, including problem solving within established pipelines
Creating and overseeing the development of skeletons, control rigs, secondary animation, and skin deformations
Proactive in problem identification while developing and delivering solutions, ensuring milestones and deliverables are executed to a high standard
Push for improved visual quality with a focus on high end character deformation
Define and estimate tasks in a well-organized manner
Interact and collaborate with the key client stakeholders
Mentoring Junior Riggers
Qualifications:
6+ years of technical art/rigging experience with multiple shipped game titles and/or VFX/feature animation
Demonstrated ability to transfer anatomical knowledge into a 3d character
Strong Knowledge of Maya
Proficient scripting experience with Python and PyQT/PySide
Strong background in rigging and skinning complex assets
Expert knowledge and understanding of animation principles and human anatomy
Having a proactive work ethic, capable problem solver who is not afraid of big challenges
Ability to prioritize deadlines and maintain consistent productivity in a fast-paced environment
Strong communication and documentation skills required to educate artists on new tools and workflows
Bonus:
Training in computer animation or applicable technical subject
Knowledge of C++ and familiarity with Maya API
Houdini Experience
Familiarity with Motion Capture
Solid understanding of 3D math
Industry experience working on AAA titles
Facial Rigging Experience
