OVERVIEW

  • Work with business and finance partners to provide the necessary policies and support for digital and other revenue projects
  • Oversee different internal projects as assigned and for implementing processes improvements and policies with focus on Order to Cash
  • Identify and guide implementation of new tools and process improvements to support contract approval process with Legal and IT
  • Review contracts and initiatives to ensure compliance with EA Policies and GAAP Revenue Accounting Standard (ASC 606)
  • Report to Senior Revenue Accounting Manager

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Process

  • Implement processes to support different digital transactions
  • Review our strategy for certain digital initiatives and guide partner decisions based on operational and financial reporting needs
  • Participate in cross-functional group projects designed to improve digital revenue transaction processes

Review Contracts & Business Models

  • Review and interpret intermediate to complex revenue contracts and transactions to determine proper accounting following Company's policies and GAAP
  • Special emphasis on being able to work with partners to identify contract clauses that impact financial reporting, accounting and operational processes and provide recommendations and alternatives for such complex clauses
  • Working with business and compliance teams to ensure arrangements are reviewed for adherence to policies and processes and providing approval
  • Help with additional projects

Procedures

  • Develop and apply revenue recognition procedures for the sources of revenue and complex transactions associated with EA's digital business
  • Lead policy discussions and establishes training for revenue procedures for revenue transactions
  • Document financial and accounting conclusions related to different revenue transactions
  • Monitor latest industry changes and digital business to identify transactions that may require unique revenue recognition requirements or non-standard processes

TECHNICAL EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum of BS in Accounting or equivalent
  • Certified Public Accountant or equivalent
  • 8+ years relevant financial accounting experience. Software industry experience
  • Knowledge of U.S. GAAP (including expense recognition and Revenue Recognition ASC 606)
  • Working knowledge of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act of 2002
