What Would I Be Doing

As part of EAIT Player Experience Engineering Team, the role offers a seasoned engineering manager an opportunity to lead a team of experienced architects and sr. developers to design and build business critical applications and solutions. You will also help establish the roadmap and strategy of business groups working on both business and technical aspect of an initiative.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coach, guide and mentor a team of 4-6 Architects and Sr Developers; support their growth and make the organization more productive, functional, and innovative.
  • Own technical direction to design and deliver scalable, performant and resilient systems.
  • Implement engineering best practices and drive continuous improvements.
  • Work closely with geographically distributed team of Product/Project Managers, Architects, Developers, QA and UAT members to deliver strategic programs.
  • Actively participate in planning, estimation, review and execution to help build capabilities to deliver on product vision.
  • Provide transparency to leadership through regular communication.
  • Be an active learner who is up for expanding your breadth of knowledge
  • Have a passion for your craft. You feel ownership over everything you ship.

The Next Great Development Manager Also Needs

  • Tech/M.Tech/MCA with overall 12+ years of experience in building and delivering complex mission critical applications and projects.
  • Solid understanding of team management theory
  • Hands-on coding experience in Java, J2EE, Spring, Spring Boot, Microservices and Angular/React
  • Experience in building, mentoring and leading engineering function that includes large teams that are globally distributed in nature with continuous development & testing model being practiced.
  • Experience managing, mentoring, goal setting, mediation and career planning
  • Experience building scalable, highly available, performant API services
  • Experience building robust, reusable, well tested, documented, distributable modules that provide key capabilities to an organization
  • Experience and passion for championing and mentoring others in software development best practices appropriate for the domain
  • Experience with SQL and non-SQL databases such as MySQL, MongoDB
  • Expertise with both object-oriented and functional software design principles
  • Experienced with Continuous Integration, Delivery and Deployment best practices
  • Experience working in a cross-functional Scrum team
  • Experience using Git and related tools like GitLab, GitHub, Bitbucket, etc.
  • Experience with DevOps / infrastructure systems
  • Experience with web platforms such as Amazon Web Services
  • Experience with container technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes
  • Expertise in delivering technical presentations
  • Expertise in delivering system-level technical design and documentation
  • Good communicator and motivator who is always looking for improvement opportunities.
  • Sense of humor.
