Reporting to the EA SPORTS FIFA League Operations Manager, you’ll lead key projects that will shape the success of Competitive Gaming for EA SPORTS FIFA. You’ll join a tightly integrated team ensuring that players, tournaments, results, and statistics are tracked across the FIFA Global Series. Your collaborative mindset will help build partnerships both internally and externally with third party partners to ensure that all tournaments are running smoothly.

Responsibilities

The FIFA League Operations Manager will focus on supporting the FIFA Competitive Gaming Group’s League Operations and Program Management teams in meeting key milestones to support League Operations around both EA Live Events and Third-Party live events, their duties will include:

  • Work with legal and tournament operator partners to create clear, comprehensive rulesets
  • Create innovative tournament systems to meet a variety of stakeholder needs
  • Manage disciplinary process
  • Collaborate with Communications team to update players of any competitive developments
  • Manage communication with external partners for third party events, acting as a primary point of contact for League Operations and other player aspects
  • Implement and track competitive systems in the FIFA competitive gaming ecosystem
  • Collaborate with Technical Events team, FIFA CG Program Management team, and FIFA development team to manage support needs and expectations for third party live events pipeline
  • Assist with operating the FIFA Global series, implementing schedules, brackets and other key aspects of the FIFA Global Series
  • Manage the tournament operations of online and live events by establishing repeatable process and best practices
  • Create and maintain project tracking for key projects across the team
  • Provide weekly updates to key stakeholders on reviewing and analysing performance and engagement of competitive systems.
  • Forge meaningful relationships with 3rd party tournament organizers and online communities to gather feedback, identify needs, and inform them of guidelines and obligations.

Requirements

  • At minimum, two years of experience in the video game industry or managing esports programs, teams or tournaments
  • Passion for FIFA, video games, and competitive gaming.
  • High attention to detail and proven ability to manage multiple, competing priorities simultaneously.
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines and prioritize.
  • Proven success leading groups without direct authority
  • Ability to build strong working relationships built on mutual trust.
  • Self-motivated individual with an ability to work autonomously.
  • Excellent communication (written & verbal)
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to manage projects on schedule.
  • Ability to work on call and on weekends when necessary to support tournament efforts.
  • Ability to travel on a monthly basis.
  • Proven track record of implementing technical solutions at events.
