EA Sports Orlando is currently seeking a skilled Console Technician to join our dedicated Employee Technology & Solutions (ET&S) team on a 12-month, onsite contract basis. As a Console Technician, you will play a crucial role in supporting our IT infrastructure, ensuring seamless operations of gaming consoles, and handling console automation. Your expertise will be pivotal in providing top-notch technical support for gaming consoles, conducting thorough testing to ensure optimal functionality, and delivering site IT desktop support services for EA Sports Orlando.

In this role, you will take charge of imaging, configuring, and deploying gaming consoles while maintaining a sharp focus on comprehensive testing to guarantee flawless performance. Collaborating closely with cross-functional teams, you will proactively address technical issues, troubleshoot problems, and swiftly implement effective solutions. Additionally, you will have a key role in co-managing the console automation room, contributing to its smooth operation in Orlando.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintain expert-level knowledge in the relevant area of specialization, encompassing IT requirements for console systems, or online gaming infrastructure and technology implementation. Ensure effective communication of any changes and updates to the IT processes.

  • Preferred knowledge of console system standards, as well as PC development, along with an understanding of IT submission requirements.

  • Provide ongoing support to local and remote IT teams, facilitating knowledge transfer and ensuring skill-levels are maintained across all teams.

  • Create and update comprehensive IT test cases and a knowledge base, executing thorough and relevant IT testing while promptly reporting any identified faults.

  • Manage the daily IT testing tasks for a small team of testers assigned to the project, prioritizing work within the IT test schedule and adhering to defined IT processes.

  • Generate regular IT testing reports, analysis, and process documentation as requested by the management team.

  • Identify and implement best practices to ensure consistent and effective IT testing methodologies across different projects.

  • Contribute to the development of onboarding and training materials for new IT testing staff, aiding in their seamless integration into the team.

  • Formulate strong relationships, based on skills, knowledge, and trust, with development teams, embedded IT teams, and other remote test teams.

SKILLS & EXPERIANCE

  • 1-3 years previous experience in a Desktop support role with an ability to understand technical issues related to desktop support.

  • Ability to work with and support a diverse range of users with computer literacy skills ranging from novice to experts.

  • Must have strong documentation skills.

  • Must have the ability to stand for long periods of time

  • Must have the ability to lift 50 pounds regularly

  • Must have the ability to climb a ladder
