The Role

The General Manager of Frostbite will report to the CTO-Creative and Development, and will be an important member of Electronic Arts (EA's) technology leadership team. You will play an important part in defining the future of where the game industry is headed.

You will lead the technology strategy and development plans for the central frostbite technology group that develops Frostbite.

The GM of Frostbite ensures that this organization collaborates with multiple partners to lead the long term thoughtful growth of Frostbite, to deliver exceptional products and services. You will play an important part in evaluating how the latest technology can allow business opportunities and encourage innovation. We are looking for a business-experienced technologist, who has the capability to explain all the technology needs of EA's largest franchises, translate these into applicable outcomes and manage a distributed team to get there.

Responsibilities

You will lead a large globally distributed engineering organization that has the appropriate balance between innovation and service culture.

  • Cultivate a sense of community, recruit and develop the team so that Frostbite continues to be a destination for top tier technical talent

  • Set group vision and corresponding culture that motivates and retains great people required for success.

  • Work and collaborate with EA Studios' executive team, EA Content Creators and Enterprise, Platform and Services team to develop an integrated platform product strategy.

  • Evaluate strategies to allow new business opportunities, increase revenue and manage cost.

  • Establish with the technical community, a clear technology roadmap that supports EA Studios including engine convergence, service offerings and technology solutions to meet the needs of all gaming platforms.

  • Use an understanding of the games industry and gaming technology to pursue new technology opportunities at the edge of gaming.

  • Define technology requirements to allow all EA Studios' processes and services, such as network engagement and analytics.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of leading change initiatives within global environments, with the ability to balance "hands-on" technology expertise and business sensibilities.

  • 8+ years of a mix of technical, business and people leadership from the game industry, entertainment or technology.

  • You have been responsible for a global organization of over 400.

  • You have built a stable and scalable technology solution to support interactive business operations.

  • You have business, operational and interpersonal abilities that deliver to deadlines.

  • Bachelor's Degree or Masters Degree with experience working in a high technology environment (e.g., gaming, online services, software,).
