We’re looking for an experienced communications professional to lead the integrated communications to support our global corporate affairs program. A multi-channel strategy that includes editorial, advertorial, paid media, social and influencer activations the role requires a holistic approach and a deep understanding of the marketing and communications eco-system.
Supporting the efforts and objectives of our public affairs team through paid and earned channels they will report into the Head of International Communications and be supported by a global agency network and US based Corporate Comms Campaign lead. The role is based in Europe.
Responsible for driving both the strategy and the executional direction of the corporate affairs program they will work in collaboration with the Head of International Corporate Communications and North American colleagues. Incorporating positive storytelling, proactive campaign beats and issues management, they will be an all-round corporate affairs professional, able to direct a program designed for multiple audiences.
You will work very closely with the retained corporate affairs agency, helping to drive the development and execution of the communications to support our corporate affairs strategy outside the Americas.
Passionate about multi-faceted corporate activity, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and defining the corporate affairs program of EA, ensuring that its corporate reputation is advanced and protected internationally.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Work seamlessly with a worldwide team, including the Head of International Corporate Communications, SVP Legal & Government Affairs and VP Global Communications in driving forward the corporate affairs strategy and execution.
- Drive strategic execution of the global corporate affairs campaign through multi-channel executions.
- Help to provide global coverage for priority issues and announcements.
- Ensure the powerful messages and storylines we deliver through PR and owned channels meet the business and communication needs of global markets.
- Be the owner of a library of consistent and impactful messaging across all corporate affairs workstreams.
- Collaborate to develop powerful creative campaigns and partnerships that help forward the corporate affairs strategy.
- Build close relationships with internal stakeholders to mine the organisation for impactful stories that help forward the corporate affairs strategy.
- Provide counsel on key issues and during crisis management scenarios.
- Partner with Director of Public Affairs to leverage communications channels and expertise to meet political objectives.
- Partner with functional teams to drive communications on or around key initiatives and issue management activities relevant to EU markets.
- Oversee regular reporting of Corporate Affairs activity and its impact.
- First point of contact for, and management of, the retained corporate affairs agency.
- Develop key messages, and draft press materials and other communications for Int markets when required.
Digital and social
- Understand the needs of corporate and stakeholder audiences online and in social.
- Liaise with agencies and internal stakeholders to ensure these audiences and their online journeys are considered and built in alongside the needs of gamers
- Manage internal/external stakeholders to set up various social and search listening programs
- Ensure that EA’s corporate communications strategy is found and understood by stakeholders online
- Set up and delegate management of corporate social channels that speak to the needs of our stakeholder audiences
- Manage corporate content production and dissemination to appropriate audiences
Experience and Skills
- 7+ years of experience in communications, strategic media relations or public relations in multiple International territories.
- Demonstrable experience of managing integrated corporate affairs or communications programs within a global organization.
- Strong skills in communications, media relations and message development with robust experience in crisis communications, issues management and corporate reputation.
- Solid understanding of how multi-channel paid campaign execution and strategy compliment earned activity including:
- Understanding and experience managing digital workstreams and platforms
- Experience managing search and paid campaigns targeting specific audiences
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously while working across time zones.
- Proven ability to think ahead, problem solve, engage proactively and take initiative.
- Strong process-minded planner who can determine deadlines, logistics and operational plans for multi-dimensional programs and events across the region.
- Ability to build strong collaborative relationships with a diverse range of partners.
- Must be passionate about communications and media relations with finger on the pulse of the latest industry trends and can deliver measurable results.
- Must be a strategic thinker with experience in conceiving and leveraging relationships.
- Demonstrated strength in building, managing, and motivating agency networks.
- Experience in a gaming organisation and / or personal interest in gaming is desirable but not essential.
- Highly driven, self-starting team player capable of operating in fast-paced and fluid environments.
