The Challenge Ahead

As a technical audio artist, you will report to an Audio Director for daily guidance, with support from your Development Director and central Technical Art. You will create quality workflows, shareable, future facing tech and data, and work with game teams, central staff and the community at large. You are an essential component of your audio team and identify risks, share solutions, seek help internally and externally to your teams and contribute with a positive, inclusive attitude.

Responsibilities

  • Build audio runtime systems with visual programming and scripting languages
  • Create, extend and manage simple and complex audio assets and structures
  • Support artists by training, debugging, and developing/improving workflows and standards
  • Onboard new hires and help train them in proprietary EA tools/tech
  • Optimize and debug runtime audio data to work and fit within modern console limitations
  • Communicate designs, best practices and risks to your team and the greater EA community.
  • Collaborate with other Technical Artists and Project Leads to help guide Cross Team Initiatives

Qualifications

  • 3+ years experience in video game or production industry, with at least three shipped titles
  • Creative mindset with focus on how to improve product quality and team productivity
  • Understanding of digital audio, acoustics or psychoacoustics fundamentals
  • Experience in
  • Visual programming and text-based scripting/coding languages
  • Debugging workflows, pipelines or runtime systems or assets
  • Content production pipelines such as audio/visual asset generation for games, movies or TV, voiceover recording or post production
  • Content/data management
  • Developing workflows and technical standards
  • Audio editing, sound design or music composition
