Reports to: Lead Core Team - Production Services

As a member of IT Production Services, the Linux Senior Systems Administrator will administer and support the implementation, monitoring, maintenance and improvement of the server estate (Windows and Linux), tools and services offered by the team. His expertise will be used, among other things, to modernize the services offered by the team and to improve existing processes by automating or by moving towards new, more efficient technological methodologies.

Responsibilities

  • Support video game development teams with dynamic technical demands, across multiple locations, to help ensure that they’re getting the most out of the team’s core service offerings;
  • Manage and support the Linux (in majority) and Windows (in minority) server estate ensuring that servers are deployed, secured, run at optimal states and selected software updates are applied;
  • Partake in the selection process for hardware, software or other solutions owned by the Production Services team;
  • Perform administration and management of all services owned by the team to maintain a high level of service availability, continuous improvement and to ensure optimal performance of tools, applications and servers;
  • Participate in the design and implementation of technologies and projects owned but the team;
  • Collaborate with the DevOps team to ensure that public/private cloud applications and services run on a solid foundation in order to meet and exceed service levels;
  • Participate in the automation of recurring tasks
  • Provide advice and guidance to customers and various stakeholders by demonstrating a sense of responsibility and accountability in the context of solutions owned by the Production Services team and other assigned projects.

Experience & qualifications required

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience;
  • 7 years of experience managing Linux servers;
  • 5 years of experience managing Microsoft technologies
  • Experience and public clouds (Azure, GCP, AWS) and private clouds (VMWare) in a multi-site or large production environment
  • Experience in "infrastructure as code" management (Ansible, Terraform, SaltStack and similar tools)
  • Experience with automation and scripting of processes

Technical Abilities

  • Working knowledge of Linux distributions in a corporate environment (Centos, Redhat, Ubuntu)
  • Knowledge of the TCP / IP stack on Linux
  • Proven capabilities around Microsoft server technologies
  • Proven capabilities around Microsoft cloud technologies (o365, Azure)
  • Desirable: Working knowledge of container backend and day-to-day operations (Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Desirable: knowledge of network packet capture software
  • Desirable: working knowledge of monitoring concepts and operations (Solarwinds a + knowledge)
  • Desirable: working knowledge of VoIP telephony
  • Desirable: working knowledge of remote working technologies (RDP, HDX, VPN)
