Business Architect

Reports to: Director of Architecture – IT

Square-Enix West is seeking a driven and innovative business architect to join our growing team and help generate solutions to address and meet various requirements and business needs. In this role, you will work on a variety of projects and will play a key part in making sure that end results are designed according to the standards set forth and created within the organization.

Responsibilities:

Responsible for assisting in the establishment of an Enterprise Architecture practice, and the adoption of an architecture and standards methodology across the organization.
Reviewing, analyzing, evaluating ideas, projects and opportunities to develop new products, new technologies and business models for the business segments
Customer focused, working with game studio stakeholders and leadership to understand business requirements and help translate them into technical solutions in collaboration with the architecture team and other technical groups within the IT organization.
Collaborating across business segments to both find opportunities for and showcase ideas in the Innovation and emerging business pipeline
Creating business architecture models demonstrating how products, operations and systems interoperate within the organization.
Conduct analysis to determine best path for solving business problems/opportunities that may include process improvement, systems enhancement, user training, and/or software procurement
Ensure solutions developed across organization are aligned to enterprise architecture standards and principles, leverage common solutions and services, and meet financial targets (cost and benefits).
Evaluate project impacts and escalate issues and risk appropriately
Conducts reviews and analysis of organizational needs and goals for the development and implementation of business architecture applications.
Collaborates with the IT architecture team in developing an IT framework that aligns with the business plan.
In conjunction with studio leadership, initiate IT project requests, perform/lead initial analysis of the request and provide initial assessment and estimation of the effort.
Analyzes the industry and market trends and determine new and potential business capabilities.
Leads the effort to work with business leaders to identify business capability needs and prioritization.
Leads the effort to translate business strategies and objectives into capabilities.
Leads the effort to identify and document capability and initiative needs and strategic prioritization into business architecture deliverables (roadmaps etc).
Develop a broad and deep understanding of all company products, services and markets
Ensures that the technology architecture and technical strategies remain current with the business goals, and directs the development of architecture activities and projects, while aligning with current and long-term business and technology goals.
Assures solutions are not only a fit for specific teams or workloads but also closely align with the global standards and guidelines benefitting the larger organization.
Provide leadership and expertise in the development of standards, architectural governance, design patterns, and practices
Influences changes to standards when necessary.
Present and defend solutions/proposals to IT and Business Leaders from Mid Management to CXOs
Work closely with project management teams to successfully monitor progress of initiatives
Provide detailed specifications or blueprints for proposed solutions
Participate in managing external vendors

Secondary duties:

Guiding developers and operation teams in case of an issue;

Knowledge & experience:

Extensive experience working with customers with a consultant type or service provider oriented approach ;
Experience building client facing architectures, working with customers, internal and external partners and vendors as well as stakeholders ;
Blueprint and architectural design creation ;
Competent in vendor relations, client relations and financial forecasting ;
Security competencies and experience working alongside multiple teams such as InfoSec, DPO, PMO, legal and finance ;
Blueprint and architectural design creation ;
Strong documentation skills with a proven track record to create clear and understandable building blocks and artifacts that can be re-used on multiple projects.
