This is not a remote position and is for-credit only. 14-15 weeks Late Jan - Early May

The EGD Collective is looking for 3 Program Interns this Fall to help develop, expand and maintain our programs and events. This internship will give you hands-on experience assisting with the creation of educational programs and provide you with knowledge of how to run events large and small. You will work alongside our programming committee on our various programs and events within game development, esports, and casual gaming. This position is perfect for candidates looking to get resume experience working for a unique start-up nonprofit organization. Duties may include:

  • Facilitating activities and events such as game nights, watch parties, tournaments, development workshops
  • Helping prepare program supplies for workshops and events
  • Managing volunteers and participants
  • Working directly with our potential partners, and community leaders
  • Assisting on all events and program projects from ideas to production

REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be currently enrolled in an undergraduate degree program (Associates or Bachelors).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Self-starter who is able to think quickly and work well with a team
  • Ability to lead groups
  • Ability to meet deadlines
  • Available 11-20 hrs a week (office hours are 12PM-6PM Mon-Thurs, and 12-9PM Friday). Periodic Saturday availability helpful but not required.

Please note that you must be available 4PM-9PM on Fridays.

Must be able to receive college credit

PREFERRED TECHNICAL SKILLS (More the better!)

  • Experience working with G-Suite
  • Familiarity with games (of all kinds) and local industry companies/communities
  • Experience with Battlefy, Discord, Canva
  • Experience with streaming/casting
  • Experience designing or developing games
  • Strong interest in working in the NYC games industry a huge plus

Freshmen, Sophomores, Juniors, and Seniors are all welcome to apply, however, you must be able to receive credit through your school.
