Echo Esports is widely recognized as a top organization in World of Warcraft esports and looking to expand after a highly successful first year and, most recently, securing a Race to World First victory in July 2021. The Social Media Manager is a key role in helping us capitalize on our success, as well as communicate with our audience in both an entertaining and a professional manner.

The Social Media Manager is responsible for maintaining the organization’s social media channels, including but not limited to: Twitter, Instagram, Reddit, and any other identified platforms. Social Media is the outward face of the organization, and it is important to keep high standards of posts, positive interaction with the community and other organizations, while staying relevant and up to date on trending topics in the industry.

Responsibilities

  • Ability to work proactively and, when necessary, autonomously to bring ideas to the leadership team.
  • Stay updated on all relevant social media tools and software.
  • Design and implement social media strategy to align with business goals
  • Curate and spotlight positive media and partner-created content on applicable channels.
  • Create and post daily, at a minimum, content to applicable social media platforms, including Twitter, Instagram, Reddit, Organization Community Discord Server and other internally discussed platforms
  • Engage and interact with the community, fans, and organization team members’ social media posts by sharing, retweeting, etc.
  • Suggest and implement new features to develop brand awareness such as promotions and competitions
  • Keep abreast of and report on feedback from users online (comments, forums, social media, etc.). Collaborate with internal departments to ensure both positive and critical community feedback is assessed appropriately and made visible if relevant.
  • In collaboration with the Business Development team; tack and evaluate social media analytics including reach, engagement, and sentiment. Provide bi-weekly reports and recommendations based on various performance measurements on an ongoing basis.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with social media platforms and best practices
  • Creative thinker with a good sense for what will resonate with the audience and ability to create various multi-media content with this in mind.
  • Ability to build and manage relationships by collaborating with cross-functional teams. Interpersonal skills, team motivation and conflict resolution are key.
  • Basic graphic and/or video editing are a plus, but not a requirement
  • Experience in esports/gaming with a strong preference for knowledge of World of Warcraft
  • Experience working and managing remotely a plus
  • General availability during peak European hours

  • Experience with social media platforms and best practices (Twitter, YouTube, Twitch, etc.)
  • Creative thinker with a good sense for what will resonate with the audience and ability to create various multi-media content with this in mind.
  • Ability to build and manage relationships, collaborate with cross-functional teams, interpersonal skills, team motivation and conflict resolution are key.
  • Audio/Video editing and production capabilities are a huge plus.
  • Experience in esports/gaming with a strong preference for knowledge of World of Warcraft.
  • Experience working and managing remotely a plus.
  • Ability to work mainly during peak EU hours.
