You'll advise on financial reports required by governmental regulations, and you'll review, analyze, and interpret financial and budgetary reports -- and all this sounds like fun to you. You must be able to work independently, as well as be team oriented, and you will be responsible for preparing financial reports and various statutory filings. Your strong background and practical experience will ensure that matters are dealt with in an efficient yet accurate manner. You will be able to work alongside the team as the company grows, and operate with flexibility in a constantly evolving team environment. While keeping up with the fast pace, your strong eye for detail will ensure continued high-quality results. This role comes with flexible hours and work locations, including the option to work-from-home while others in the office are traveling for events.

Responsibilities

  • Operate the accounting and closing work including payroll
  • Financial reporting to the CFO and company leadership
  • Manage all remaining operational tasks related to finances including VAT & tax returns, cash management, budgeting, forecasting, etc.
  • Ad hoc reporting and sounding board for company leadership
  • Prepare weekly liquidity plan
  • Work with project managers to provide project specific reports
  • Occasional human resources and/or general office administrative work may be requested
  • Manage local accounting, statutory reporting, and compliance matters within State and Federal jurisdiction
  • Key point of contact for any accounting and compliance issues related to the entities you manage
  • Work with external auditors and advisors, and be responsible for accurate and timely completion of local statutory audits, tax and other statutory filings. Proactively identify issues and keep manager informed in a timely manner
  • Help coordinate the payments internal and external business process (i.e. payment collections and payouts)
  • Occasional travel to work at our events, usually 2-3 times a year

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Qualifications:

  • BA/BS degree in Accounting or Finance or equivalent practical experience
  • 3+ years of relevant work experience, within the gaming/esports/tech industries preferred
  • Extensive experience using QuickBooks, G Suite, and Excel

Preferred Qualifications:

  • In depth accounting and compliance subject matter expertise
  • Experience with management of compliance requirements for entities in multiple jurisdictions
  • Experience in human resources and general office administration
  • Proven ability to work in a cross-functional, fast-paced environment
  • Attention to detail, and excellent organizational, interpersonal, analytical, and communication skills
