We’re looking for a seasoned UI/UX Designer to work with us on an exciting project to manage and drive the UI/UX process, responsible for ensuring the design and the graphic production of the menus and user interfaces, from technical specifications through to functional implementation. Creating engaging, usable and effective UI. This person will work in close cooperation with the art, design, and programmer leads.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop concepts and the design of the game menus and user interfaces
- Responsible for implementing an efficient, functional and visually interesting UI
- Working closely with UI artists and UI programmers, as well as developers from other disciplines, to implement UI solutions
- Implementing and maintaining UI assets in the game engine
- Ensuring the technical consistency and integrity of UI assets
- Research and solve any UI barriers for players through iteration based on internal feedback
Essential Skills
- 5 years minimum of solid UX/UX game design experience, preferably console
- Experience with UE4 in regards to UI implementation workflow
- Ability to provide and accept constructive feedback
- Drive and passion for creating great user experiences and appealing visual design
- Experience with standard industry software such as Photoshop and Illustrator
- A strong understanding of typography, composition, colour theory, visual design and interaction design
- Ability to clearly and effectively communicate and collaborate with other designers and artists to ensure delivery of the best possible user experience
Desirable Skills
- Knowledge of UE4, ideally having shipped titles using it
- Good understanding of UX design for console and PC
- Experience in After Effects, 3D rendering software (e.g. 3ds Max), Flash or other motion graphics software
- Basic scripting knowledge
- Understanding of different input systems
- Possesses a flair for animation
