Vice President of Brand Marketing

The VP of Brand Marketing leads how the Discord's brand comes to life. As our VP of Brand Marketing, you're the central contact and the glue for moving our marketing campaigns from ideas to well executed stories. We are looking for a VP who has experience building a team, refining brand marketing strategy and can drive and manage brand marketing plans and strategies. Reporting to the Chief Marketing Officer, you need to build a compelling strategy, and lead teams from insight to execution. We ask that you can develop integrated marketing plans through an understanding of our user, our brand, and our campaign goals.

What you'll be doing

  • Lead a cross-functional team to set the strategy, roadmap, plans and priorities to enable development and execution of the brand strategy that helps improve the strategic priorities of the Discord Brand
  • Provide strategic leadership, team collaboration, cross-functional excellence and direction the Discord Brand
  • Build Business Plans/targets to ensure they ladder into the Discord Brand Product Portfolio
  • Help lead the end-to-end process and participate in final GTM results
  • Help provide inputs to influence decisions across Marketing, Engineering/Product/Architecture/Development (EPAD) and all business functions
  • Focus on growth opportunities, inclusive of digital subscription, to drive grow for existing and new audiences
  • Partnership with key stakeholders to brief insights analysis to increase growth for the Discord brand
  • Lead and drive cross functional business segment alignment meetings, preps team for all essential meetings and gates

What you should have

  • 20+ years of experience in brand marketing within the consumer space
  • Experience building, managing, and developing a brand marketing team
  • Experience developing strategic brand plans
  • Experience and understanding of global marketing offense
  • Ability to set measurable goals for the team and reliably execute on them
  • Experience presenting to audiences including executives
  • Ability to take groundbreaking ideas and operationalizing them by catalyzing action and aligning the appropriate resources / partners
  • Proven ability to create and execute global and geo GTM plans
  • Experience with how strategies and plans are guided by audience insights and behaviors
  • Experience prioritizing and ensuring key initiatives move forward
  • Experience influencing cross-functionally across all levels of management
