Finding the right people to add into our unique mix is a difficult endeavour, so we're looking for a Technical Recruiter to join our fledgling recruiting team and help us maintain a smooth and positive experience for remarkable candidates.

What you'll be doing

  • Help define our recruiting strategy that will help us achieve our ambitious hiring goals as we expand the team across all engineering and product functions
  • Serve as a company brand ambassador as the first point of contact for many candidates
  • Understand how business goals impact the full hiring landscape and anticipate how organizational changes may impact hiring needs
  • Develop strong relationships with hiring managers to understand their needs and help them meet their hiring goals
  • Recruit top talent through sourcing on multiple channels, reviewing incoming applicants, and maintaining a successful offer acceptance rate
  • Innovate on ways to attract and source world class engineers
  • Identify process improvement areas and solutions, share and encourage best practices with the rest of the Recruiting, People Ops, and Executive team to ensure every candidate has a positive experience
  • Help manage interview load distribution and assist getting new hiring managers and interviews calibrated on hiring best practices
  • Develop a deep relationship with candidates by understanding their goals, values, and interests to match them to the right openings and strengthen the offer process
  • Drive events and programs for recruiting and employment brand efforts
  • Assist on roles outside of Engineering and Product if open headcount volume warrants additional help

What you should have

  • A commitment to and track record of delivering high touch, world class service to internal and external candidates and employees
  • Adaptability and openness to learning and incorporating new recruiting strategies, tactics, and processes
  • 5+ years of experience sourcing for Engineering and Product roles
  • Proven track record sourcing and hiring passive candidates
  • Strong calendar management skills and attention to detail
  • Experience with Lever, Greenhouse, Jobvite, Taleo, or other forms of applicant tracking systems or CRMs
  • Confident, coachable and enthusiastic team player who thrives in a fast-moving environment
  • A sense of urgency in juggling multiple priorities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Comfortable interfacing with all types of people

  • A passion for gaming and an understanding of Discord’s mission and values
  • Experience working in a tech startup or an agency serving tech startups
  • Experience with Google and Trello product suites for office communication
