DigitalFish has an imminent need for a broad range of roles in support of our work developing and advancing a large-scale, cloud-hosted, next-generation animation and VFX pipeline in partnership with a renowned global studio.

At DigitalFish, you'll have a unique opportunity to help lead this invention of the future of design, entertainment and play on multiple fronts.

The Cloud VFX Pipeline engineer will work closely with the architecture team and our client(s) to analyze production needs and produce efficient and effective solutions, and/or define platform APIs and capabilities that enable users to build production-specific integrations for themselves. In addition to expert technical skills, the ideal person must have a broad knowledge of established VFX and animation industry pipeline patterns and a passion for innovating new approaches that unlock even more productivity and creativity.

Responsibilities

  • Establish detailed program specifications through discussions with users
  • Design, implement and iterate with a global user base on tools and workflows that service multiple productions and leverage best practices
  • Collaborate closely with product management and engineering teams to stay aligned on product roadmaps across enterprise applications
  • Develop strategies to extend and adapt existing pipelines to work with a new cloud-oriented production infrastructure
  • Provide example code, documentation, and guidance to technical artists as they solve production-driven problems

Required Skills & Experience

  • 7+ years experience in VFX or 3D animation shot production pipeline teams
  • Experience in large scale and distributed production environments
  • Exceptional communications skills, including the ability to translate user needs into clear problem statements, and the ability to write engineering specifications
  • Experience with 3rd party tools like Shotgun, Nuke, Houdini, Blender, Maya; in particular a demonstrated ability to customize workflows via their APIs
  • Able to work independently and drive results
  • Track record of success while working autonomously
  • Experience on-set (live action or virtual production) is a strong plus
  • Proof of eligibility to work in the United States

Location

Your primary work will be virtual due to COVID-19 restrictions and will stay remote once COVID-19 restrictions lift. As conditions improve, some travel to actual studios may be required.
