Dexerto is looking for a talented and experienced full-time US Content Editor, ideally based on the West Coast of America (you will need to work PST hours).

This is a senior position on the editorial team, so we are looking for an esports and gaming culture enthusiast who can demonstrate considerable experience in a management role on a website. You might be an editor who is looking for a new challenge on a fast-growing esports network, or you may be a deputy who is itching to step up and show what they can do.

You will be expected to lead a team of writers based in the US, directing the content we produce for dexerto.com. You need to source compelling news stories about the broad range of esports and streaming personalities that we cover – including Call Of Duty, Overwatch, Apex Legends, CS:GO, Fortnite, League Of Legends and more. Whilst you will be expected to write, it will be your main responsibility to ensure that the content the US team produces on both the website and our various social media platforms meets our editorial standards and helps maintain and grow the site.

As well as news stories, you need to be able to deliver features for Dexerto, so we are looking for a creative person, who has a deep knowledge of existing esports and streaming culture, can quickly jump on viral trends, and has the ideas that will help shape Dexerto's content output from the US.

Knowledge of SEO and analytics is also essential as you will be using data to inform editorial decisions that you make.

While you will be working remotely, you will be expected to manage a team of writers based around the country, and also communicate with the UK team. Leadership experience is also essential – as well as having the final say on the content we produce, you will be expected to give feedback to writers and help to improve their standards. Communication skills, the ability to share ideas, delegate and accept feedback yourself from senior managers is also crucial.

It goes without saying that you will need to be a great writer, who is able to muck in with the team and turn around snappy, compelling news stories to tight deadlines. We welcome individuality, but you will need to make sure that any editorial on dexerto.com is in keeping with our style guide.

You will also have to share our content on our social platforms, so you need to have experience of using social media to drive traffic to a website. You will also be expected to ensure social posts by the team meet with our standards, regularly offering feedback to help improve copy.

Basic photoshop skills will also be required to create thumbnails for stories and social.
