Are you passionate about esports? Do you have a flair for writing?

Dart Frog are on the hunt for new freelance esports writers based in the UK. We are currently undertaking a major overhaul of our website and written content and are on the hunt for new writers to help us build the ultimate knowledge-base for esports in the UK.

If you believe that you have strong writing skills and a thorough knowledge of esports, this is your chance to join a rapidly growing esports news platform with a number of upsides.

We are currently looking to hire 6 paid freelance writers, each focusing on one game & esports scene in the following categories:

  • League of Legends
  • DOTA 2
  • CSGO
  • Overwatch
  • FIFA 19
  • General esports news

The positions we are currently hiring for are junior-level freelancers paid between £10-£15 per 500 word article. Rate is negotiable based on content quality and experience. You will be required to write 2 articles per week, with a view to expand content output as the business and community grows.

There will also be added opportunities such as securing press passes at expos and attending company events. This is not just a simple start-up – it’s a real project with real backing and very realistic growth expectations.

All positions are remote, with no in-person requirements. That said, those that are based nearby will absolutely have the opportunity to visit us. Our offices are located at the Cody Technology Park in Farnborough, Hampshire.

We want our writers to be deeply immersed and dedicated to their favourite game and esports scene. With this in mind we will preferably be searching for a different writer for each game. However, if you feel like you have a thorough knowledge and understanding of more than one of the above games & esports scene then please do let us know and we will consider you writing for both.

All potential candidates must

  • Possess and maintain a thorough understanding of their chosen gaming title & esports scene
  • Have the ability to self-start and a motivation to continuously improve
  • Be reliable and detail-oriented with strong writing skills
  • Have excellent communication skills and work well independently
  • Be cooperative and open to constructive criticism

How to apply

  • Please submit your CV/Resume (don't worry if your job experience doesn’t relate to gaming/esports – your passion and writing skills are far more important to us).
  • Submit a cover letter detailing your skills and experience that relate to the role.
  • Provide links to your previous esports writing work. If you cannot provide us with your prior work in esports writing then please produce a 500 word article on a current topic of your choice within the esport you wish to write about.
