As the Lead Environment Artist, you will be part of the core of a AAA anime style of game. You will be responsible for the development of quality 3D environments and establishing or maintaining a workflow respectively to the schedule for the environment team. You will facilitate communication with your teams, other teams inside the Montreal studio as well as in Japan.
Responsibilities:
- Teach and communicate the artistic direction to the environment team.
- Guide and support the skill growth of the environment team.
- Collaborate with other departments as well as the teams in Japan.
- Maintain the established workflows and suggest improvements.
- Create high quality assets.
- Help your team to keep up with the schedule.
- Communicate feedback, suggestions, and ideas.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of game development or at least 1 game shipped as a Lead or Senior.
- Expertise with 3D modeling in Maya or 3ds Max to create high quality game ready assets with standard optimization techniques.
- Excellent texturing skills using substance Painter, Designer and Photoshop.
- Experience with Unreal Engine 4.
- Excellent organization, communication and teamwork abilities.
- Strong ability to objectively evaluate and give constructive feedback to the work of others.
- Ability to deal with technical issues of mild to high complexity autonomously.
- Excellent ability to fully understand, recreate and communicate a given artistic vision.
- Strong skill at creating beautiful scene compositions that supports the intended gameplay.
- Ability to envision entire levels with minimal direction.
- Enthusiastic and ambitious about the anime style and video game creation.
- Japanese language is not required though interest for learning is welcome.
