Overview

The Esports Community Manager will oversee and ensure the success of CSU-Global’s gaming and esports community. This position will work to continually engage and develop the community as well as manage esports rosters and build relationships internally and externally. The Esports Community Manager will be responsible for monitoring the day-to-day communications with community members, reporting to internal stakeholders of the community’s status and managing/coordinating local and away events. This position will require an individual who has experience with the esports industry at the college-level, effective communication with internal/external stakeholders and a strong understanding of how to build/maintain an online-based community. The Esports Community Manager will manage student-led positions within the esports rosters, so that student players can compete freely without being hinder by the logistics of the program. Student-led positions will manage the day-to-day operations and logistics aspect of the esports community.

  • Manage day-to-day relationships with gaming and esports community members through various channels (Discord, Twitch, Connect, etc.) to drive participation.
  • Schedules of events

  • News and updates
  • Maintain Discord server on a regular basis to mitigate issues and involved in student interactions.
  • Promote esports team through content creation and communication strategies.
  • Continual engagement with student populous to drive participation and interest of gaming and esports community.
  • Establish sponsors and partnerships with companies to promote esports community.
  • Manage, host or coordinate online events on a recurring basis.
  • Provide oversight and guidance to esports rosters.
  • Assessing communities needs/concerns and reporting community status internal stakeholders.
  • Build relationships with other college gaming/esports communities.

Qualifications

Experience & Education Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED required; minimum of 2 years of college
  • 2+ years of relevant experience.
  • Direct experience building, working with and managing online communities.
  • Experience with online video platforms (Twitch & YouTube) and communication platforms (Discord).
