As a Combat Designer you will help drive the combat experience to match our project's goals. You will be responsible for designing and tweaking enemy types and AI behavior to define this experience. You will work closely with other specializations such as Gameplay Design, AI Programming and Character Art to bring compelling and memorable enemies to life.

Responsibilities

  • Take ownership of enemy types, behavior and balancing from pitch to finish.
  • Play an active role in enemy implementation, working with other departments to ensure all required resources are scheduled and delivered as intended.
  • Run sanity check on game feature ideas with relevant stakeholders to get an overview for dependencies, restrictions and possibilities.
  • Create and maintain design documentation.
  • Test the game regularly to iterate on enemy-related features.

Requirements

  • 2+ years as a Game Designer in the video games industry.
  • 1 or more shipped AAA titles on PC or Console, preferable a FPS.
  • Strong knowledge of the principles of game design theory.
  • Strong documentation skills.
  • Solid verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Ability to create high level design documentation and game concepts.
  • Deep passion for gaming, preferably FPS sandbox games.
