Crunchyroll is the world's most popular anime brand. We’re an international business focused on creating both online and offline experiences for anime fans, through content (licensed, co-produced, and originals), merchandise, events, gaming, news, and more.

We are seeking a passionate salesperson experienced partnering with gaming, entertainment & consumer packaged goods (CPG) companies as well as media agencies to sell media campaigns consisting of video, social integration, events and custom media packages.

As an individual contributor reporting to the Head of Direct Sales, you will be joining the growing Ad Sales team, as a Sales Director. You will be responsible for leveraging the wide reach of Crunchyroll & VRV’s 60M fans. Through our multiple media channels, you will primarily target game publishers and movie studios, CPG brands to give them access to our highly engaged and scaled communities.

Travel is recommended for this role. You should expect to attend various Anime and Gaming conventions throughout the year. Both local and international.

Responsibilities:

  • Developing your own pipeline and build relationships with prospects targeting game publishers, movie studios and consumer products, and media agencies
  • Expert lead sourcer, you have an ability to generate leads and are not afraid to reach out to companies at will
  • Present Crunchyroll & VRV to a variety of decision makers and advertising agencies
  • Be inquisitive and on the lookout for upcoming games release dates & future RFP’s
  • Creative thinker. The ability to translate client goals and KPIs into engaging advertising campaigns that delight our audience.
  • Managing custom campaigns and break them down into actionable project tasks for other team members, track progress and report on results.
  • Problem solver. Rarely does a campaign go smooth from start to finish; you will handle bumps and deviations with grace and focus on providing solutions that meet all parties’ needs.
  • Inside seller. Translate clients asks into actionable tasks and sell the idea through to the internal execution teams.
  • Communication perfectionist. You respond to emails quickly, and ensure every person has the information needed to complete their section of the project.
  • Expect to commit ~25% of time to meetings, conventions - local and overseas.

Requirements:

  • 7+ years of media sales and business development experience (B2B)
  • Online media role, preferably campaign-focused
  • Proven results of hitting targets and sticking to deadlines
  • Track record in working with multi-million revenue targets
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently
  • Ability to create and dissect proposals, replying to RFPs
  • Superb communication skills in spoken and written English
  • Understanding roll out plans, target demographics and budgets
  • Creating and presenting media campaigns to prospects
  • A demonstrable and sustainable high level of energy and enthusiasm
  • Positive attitude and passion for doing business
  • Happy to work as part of a growing business

Nice to Have:

  • Gaming, entertainment & CPG background with clients/agencies.
  • Experience managing large scale projects with multiple facets
  • Experience with CRM and tools, Salesforce, Google slides, PPT, Excel
  • Passion for entertainment and anime/gaming pop culture
  • Understand the programmatic video space setting up PMPs with user IDs with DSPs
