We are EA

We entertain millions of people across the globe with the most amazing and immersive interactive software in the industry. That is why we employ the most creative, passionate people in the industry. EA’s UK game studio Criterion is opening several yearlong internships, spanning all game development crafts.

We are growing our team with accomplished people who will help us take a huge leap forwards, and you, the next generation of game makers, are central to this ambition. As we explore new possibilities within gaming, challenge our own beliefs and step outside of our comfort zone, we need fresh perspective that challenges convention and inspires us to grow.

To that end, we’re looking for a talented and motivated Intern Producer who will help us on this journey, while learning about the field of games art hands-on.

Responsibilities

  • Collaboration is a key pillar at our studios, and as a Production Intern you’ll be at the forefront, championing this approach. Games Producers are the glue that bind our studio, bringing together individuals from every discipline and harnessing their abilities to form effective feature teams. Unlike some other studios, we don’t separate our teams by craft. We believe that we work best together in multi-discipline groups, allowing for even greater collaboration and creativity. As such, you’ll work with other Producers and Development Directors (Project Managers) and Designers, Engineers, Artists and Audio Designers.
  • Making games is unpredictable, and we're all in it together. Producers are our drivers, listening and working with all our experts to set clear goals, solve dependencies and get decisions made, to ensure our games to be the best quality they can be. A Criterion Producer is responsible for defining the problem & the constraints for a project or feature and for how we measure the success of our products.

What you'll learn to do

  • Gather requirements from stakeholders and work with design and creative leads to define the problem space and high-level objectives.
  • Lead a small team day-to-day to set priorities and share big-picture context from across the project.
  • Work within the Production group to solve dependencies and raise risks that impact your team.
  • Collaborate with experts across different disciplines to understand constraints and implementation costs.
  • Focus the team on the player experience by maintaining a culture of regularly playing the game together.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Some experience in games development – maybe you’ve taken part in a hack, worked on a uni or personal project
  • An intense passion to make incredible games with fresh player experiences
  • You value working in a team and aren’t afraid to ask questions
  • You know that we will never stop learning and so have a hunger to learn as much as possible
  • You play games and often try to understand how they are made or have ideas on how to improve them
  • A passion for people and process, with a desire to unlock the potential of individuals and teams
  • Enthusiasm for working in our collaborative and friendly environment
  • We appreciate the work our Interns provide, so here at EA we like to offer you great facilities while you are working onsite including:

Please note: If you have a passion to work for Electronic Arts please apply, even if this specification does not describe you. Unfortunately, job specifications are a little more box like than we would like. We do not like putting people into boxes. We would love to hear about who you are because, even if it is not design, we may find something here that is right for you and therefore right for us too.
