Commodity Buyer

General Purpose:

  • Manage all aspects of the procurement and supply chain of key commodities, products, and services in gaming peripherals to ensure on-going optimum cost and delivery while developing insights and driving meaningful change where opportunities exist.

Position Summary, Responsibilities and Expectations:


  • Collaborate with team mates located in Asia on all procurement activities. Communicate key project activities happened in HQ and discuss action plan driving issues to closure.
  • Ensure all procurement activities comply with the Company's Code of Ethics & Business Conduct Guidelines, Purchasing Policies & Procedures, and legal & ethical business practices

Supplier management:

  • Manage supply and demand, close gaps and build appropriate buffer while minimizing excess and liability
  • Collect and update supplier scorecard, track KPIs and drive improvements to build a robust and competitive supply chain
  • Develop and maintain good working relationships with suppliers

Cost management:

  • Assist the development of sourcing strategies to achieve most favorable price, schedule, and terms and conditions
  • Track spend and cost-savings, set quarterly projections and targets
  • Prepare RFP/RFQ packages, analyze RFQ submissions, present cost summary and supplier selection recommendations for core team and management

Assurance of supply and on time delivery:

  • Identify and analyze issues/risks early in NPI, including business models, capacity, yield, long leadtime components, logistics, drive them to closure prior to ramping
  • Ensure appropriate production capacity and tooling life span at all supplier sites
  • Follows up current products open POs, ensure supplier delivers orders within the lead-time, help expedite urgent shipment as needed

Cross-Functional Support:

  • Engage with cross functional team, ensure procurement deliverables are completed in timely manner for all new products introductions
  • For MP products, process price change associates to engineering changes, execute implementation, negotiate material exposure and obtain approval from management team
  • In the event of quality escalation, support PE team to close liabilities discussion, develop recoveriy plan, work with reverse logistic to process all claims
  • Support EOL of current product, work with planning and channel marketing, obtain team consensus and management approval on material exposure and last time buy

Project Management:

  • Manage supply chain projects (e.g: factory move, tariff solution, etc)
  • Develop a detail schedule for supply chain activities to support the NPI project plan/goal
  • Report project status in management review

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • 3 to 5 years of procurement and/or operations experience
  • Hands-on knowledge in manufacturing and/or supply chain of consumer products such as PC chassis enclosure, fan, air and liquid cooler, controllers, or similar electrical/mechanical components
  • Experience in working with ODM and contract manufacturers. demonstrate good knowledge of the procurement function and its capabilities to support business objectives
  • Up-to-date knowledge on competitive market landscape and trends affecting the consumer electronics industry
  • Excellent analytical capabilities with proficiency in MS Excel
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with proficiency in MS Word and PowerPoint
  • Ability to work cross functionally in a dynamic environment and build consensus
  • Flexibility during evenings to collaborate with international teams
  • Strong work ethic and goal-oriented
  • Bachelor’s degree in a business or science/engineering field
  • Bi-Lingual: English and Mandarin preferred but not required
