General Purpose:

This backend developer will be responsible for maintaining and expanding the backend code for a newly acquired business in the esports space. Their website currently uses Ruby on Rails with Postgres and is hosted on Heroku. This position is open to remote workers.

Position Summary, Responsibilities and Expectations:

• Maintain and update existing software
• Create and deliver high quality code for new features
• Continue and expand the existing testing/QA framework
• Collaborate with the business team to appropriately scope and schedule deliverables
• Verify that releases are performing optimally across queries, APIs, and infrastructure
• Perform code reviews for other developers’ work

Essential Skills and Experience:

• 4+ years of Ruby on Rails experience
• 3+ years of Postgres experience
• Knowledge of Heroku & AWS
• BS in computer science or related, or equivalent experience
• Familiarity with scheduling/lesson systems a plus
• Familiarity with Angular is helpful but not required
