Connected Camps, a partner organization of the North America Scholastic Esports Federation, is hiring to support the expansion of the Federation. Work from home as a high school esports coach. Use your gaming expertise to teach others, be an esports ambassador, and foster community.

The Organization:​
The North America Scholastic Esports Federation (NASEF) is a one of a kind national esports “learn and play” platform whose mission is to provide opportunities for ALL students to use esports as a platform to acquire critical communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills needed to thrive in work and in life.

The Role: ​We are seeking talented esports coaches to lead teams of high school students during NASEF’s 2018 fall season. You will nurture a healthy and competitive environment that empowers high school gamers to become society’s game changers. Coaching will take place virtually, and include team sessions, clinics, scrims, and tournament play. This is a contract position lasting from September through approximately December 2018.

    the first two schools they coach and $500 for each additional school.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Take ownership over the experience of two or more high school teams through high
    quality training and mentoring
  • Develop an inclusive, friendly, and supportive team culture for all community members
  • Act as a representative of NASEF by understanding all league rules and regulations and assuring compliance and consistency among athletes
  • Work closely with the team’s faculty sponsor/General Manager (GM) in managing training and scrimmage schedules, as well as assisting in the selection of players for the competitive team
  • Deliver improving performance results, including individual and team goals

Requirements:

  • Competitive experience in professional league play (Overwatch)
  • A quiet workspace with reliable internet and webcam
  • Experience working with high school or middle school students
  • Experience coaching and being coached or experience mentoring and being mentored
  • Availability to work on a Pacific Standard Time-based schedule

Preferred Skills:

  • Have or be pursuing a degree in Business, Education, Child Development, Psychology, or
    relevant degree that can be applied to coaching a team
  • Experience working in high-pressure scenarios or situations that involve confrontation
    and solving those issues
  • Excellent verbal and communication skills

Location: ​We are a distributed team so you will work from home.

Start Date: ​Early September 2018
