Esports Club Coordinator Job Opportunity

Job Type: Part-Time, Hourly, Non-Exempt

Location: Seattle, Washington

Compensation: $20-25/hour

About Us: Connected Camps is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to build a global online community where kids build, code, play, and learn from one another. We tap the power of youth tech experts to teach and mentor, and have served thousands of kids through our online and community-based programs.

The Role: The Esports Club Coordinator acts as the liaison between NASEF’s General Managers, University of Washington researchers, and Connected Camps staff to ensure that program activities operate properly to meet their proposed outcomes and expectations. This position is responsible for providing administrative, logistical, and research support at program locations in the greater Seattle area.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead recruitment of clubs into the Esports for Wellness project pilot
  • Maintain clear communication with Connected Camps program staff, researchers, and General Managers
  • Track and resolve programmatic issues and inquiries raised by General Managers, escalating to Program Supervisor or Program Manager as needed
  • Maintain expert understanding of program goals, guidelines and standards in order to answer program inquiries
  • Conduct monthly in-person visits of program sites to assess needs, facilitate research, and observe program quality
  • Attend program planning meetings as needed
  • Provide ongoing support and mentorship to General Managers and their students
  • Communicate any programmatic updates to General Managers to support timely implementation
  • Facilitate and manage General Manager onboarding/orientations
  • Record and report on program performance metrics, such as attendance
  • Manage and moderate relevant program Discord and Slack servers
  • Attend and participate in relevant Connected Camps and NASEF staff meetings including all-admin team meetings, department meetings, and any assigned committee or site-specific meetings

Role Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent (Preferred in Business Management, Education, Psychology, Sociology, or other field relevant to building and implementing educational youth programs)
  • 1-3 years of experience in program coordination or administration in a nonprofit organization
  • 1-3 years of experience in a classroom environment
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills: verbal, written, technological, and interpersonal
  • Passion for and knowledge of Esports and online gaming
  • Ability to operate a computer, including familiarity with Google Suite, Slack, and Zoom

  • Experience working closely with high school educators and afterschool programs
  • Interest in working in a fast-paced, iterative, design-based environment with a focus on young people
  • Ability and desire to submit work to team early for constructive criticism and revision, as well as ability to give constructive criticism for revision
  • Detail-oriented and able to manage personal workflow on multiple tasks and deliverables
  • Flexible, independent and willing to pitch-in where needed

Location and Travel

This position is a mixture of remote and in-person work throughout the greater Seattle, Washington area. In-person work includes site visits to NASEF clubs (schools and libraries). This position must be able to fulfill these local travel requirements.
