As a QA Tester, you will be part of the Austin based QA team dedicated to ensuring the stability and quality of the titles worked on at Cloud Imperium Games.
The role will focus on performing daily checks on current systems and supporting the respective development teams on site with reproducing issues, testing work in progress content and, providing feedback on the current state of the title. As a QA tester the work done will directly affect the quality of the systems, locations, and overall feel within the Persistent Universe.
Founded in 2012, Cloud Imperium Games creates cutting-edge videogames that defy expectations. We’re currently developing Star Citizen, a record-breaking multiplayer online space sim, and Squadron 42, a cinematic single-player adventure set in the same universe. What do our QA Testers do on daily basis?
Support studio-wide QA leads improving existing testing procedures and identifying requirements.
Find, report, and verify issues on assigned projects
Verify features and systems on a daily basis and create feedback for the QA lead
Execute and maintain test cases on assigned projects as well as ad-hoc testing on focused areas.
Provide feedback to the development team on product features.
Compose daily and weekly progress reports for the QA lead, which includes test estimates for features based on scope and complexity.
What do we expect from our QA Testers?
Proven professional game production experience.
Thorough knowledge of the game development process with strong bug-writing and communication skills.
Advanced skill in identifying and isolating issues systemically to help with resolving problems quicker.
Good knowledge with various bug tracking tools such as Jira.
Experience with writing test cases and ownership of feature areas.
Ability to stay organized and motivated to meet specific deadlines.
Knowledge of game engines.
Thrive in a fast-paced, always-changing work environment where adaptability is paramount.
