As an Organic Environment Artist at CIG, you will be joining a team responsible for creating all the amazing organic locations in the game. Star Citizen is a universe filled with solar systems, each of which are filled with diverse locations all of which the player can seamlessly fly down to from space and explore on foot.

You will be utilising our in-house tools and technology which have allowed us to render everything from a planet seen from orbit, all the way down to the individual petals on a plant without any loading screen. You will work with the creative team to build out biomes using a mixture of scanned data and procedural tools and paint these down in real time on the planet surface to achieve a photorealistic end frame.

What does an Organic Environment Artist at CIG do?

Create believable planets and locations which are rich in detail and will inspire the player to explore.
Create photorealistic geology and botanical assets.
Create heightmaps and terrain textures.
Work closely with the Art Lead and Art Director to make sure the artistic vision is coming to life.
Collaborate with other departments to help create the best experience possible.

What we would want to see?

Someone who is passionate about creating inspirational environments.
Experience in creating photorealistic artwork.
Understanding key aspects of the discipline like modelling, shading and world building.
