As a Lead Cinematic Animator, you will be the leader of a team of Animators that work with Cinematic Designers and Level Designers to bring to life the performances of some of the best actors in the industry and tying them into the Squadron 42 narrative. You’ll be developing scenes with multiple branching options, deep and emotional narrative, and exciting action.

What do our Lead Cinematics Animator do?
Collaborate with Animation Director and Cinematic and Story Directors on planning, designing, and implementing story events and cinematics within the game engine and ensure that performances and animations and their in-game implementation match the intent of the performance capture and game needs.
Work with Animation Director to maintain consistency of team’s deliverables through regular critiques and ensure timely completion of animation commitments at the desired quality bar.
Assess the overall performance of the team, providing mentoring and guidance, and scheduling and allocating tasks where requested.
Liaison with other Animation Department Leads and other Team Leads to ensure consistent working process and knowledge transfer.
Drive development of motion capture and keyframe animation into the product.
Work with the teams to develop documentation, and to improve Solutions and Processes.
Guide and Develop Motion Trees and Technical Solutions for Story needs.
Push boundaries and promote new and innovative ways of working while supporting our growth culture and advocating knowledge sharing within your team.
What do we expect from our Cinematics Animators?
We expect our Lead Cinematic Animators to lead by example, therefore you should have:
Shipped 2-3 large scale, ideally, AAA titles in a gameplay role.
Commercial experience in game animation development.
Solid understanding on Motion Graphs/trees and how-to author and implement them.
A thorough understanding of animation pipelines and the processes involved from the conceptual phase to implementation.
Ability to work with Maya, Motion builder and other equivalent software.
Ability to create fluid, smooth, realistic animations with specific demonstration of animation fundamentals.
Capability to lead and mentor a team of animators of various levels of experience and talents.
High degree of self-awareness, integrity and empathy.
