Star Citizen is a well-regarded game recognised for its rich and detailed universe, and we are now looking for a passionate Concept Artist to join our small, yet close-knit team.
The successful Concept Artist will help shape and design core parts of Star Citizen, including spaceships, spaceship weapons, ship components and FPS weapons.
Working with various departments, the design work will encompass the entire cycle, ranging from small to large and from complex to simple. We have a large library of existing designs and artwork to reference as well as a well-defined, well established pipelines and processes to provide an environment every Concept Artist could thrive in.
What does a concept artist at CIG do?
- Create new, exciting designs and concepts that get the artists excited to bring them to life
- Build on ship manufacturer guidelines to expand Star Citizen product range (such as Ships, Weapons)
- Develop ship interiors and exteriors
- Produce a variety of work, ranging from quick sketches and 3D assets to final promotional imagery for marketing
What do we expect from our concept Artists?
- Experience in 3D and 2D environments
- Ability to communicate form, function, materials, lighting, animation, etc., to other departments within the organisation in a clear and concise manner.
- Ability to collaborate and share ideas, while being able to take direction to achieve project’s needs.
- Willingness to learn and nurture core art skills to help with the whole
- Ability to multitask and have an innovative approach to problem solving
