Fixed term contract + commission

Start date ASAP til 29th of April

There is a very strong possibility this role will be made permanent after the Fixed term contract period. This will depend on the festival launch review at the end of April and the individual’s success during the three month FTC.

The Opportunity:

In the UK it is estimate that 25 million people play games on their mobile phones. We are launching a brand new UK B2C festival solely for mobile gamers.

Many B2C computer game festivals have been established across the globe. However, none have been dedicated to the mobile gamer demographic. This launch will be the first of its kind and will highlight the best games via a 5G landscape.

In 2021 the mobile gaming approximate global revenue was 88 billion USD annually. This is more than Console and PC gaming combined. It is an incredibly fast growing space with the live event sector set to expand with it.

The Role:

An exciting new opportunity has opened up for a Business development manager within this new mobile gaming department. Working within the Clarion gaming department you will be supporting the Head of Esports and Sales consultant’s in driving new sponsorships and partnerships for the new festival set to launch in either September or October 2022.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Taking ownership in selling sponsorship and stand space for the festival
  • Helping to develop sales decks for packages that will be sold to sponsors and partners
  • Working with key partners and sponsors to ensure outstanding unique content is sold and upheld.
  • forming partnerships with computer gaming publishers
  • Keeping abreast of market developments, identifying and researching new growth areas for sales
  • Ensure all sales administration is completed to a high standard and in a timely manner
  • Researching and conducting sales campaigns to attract sales

Knowledge, Skills & Behaviours:

  • Avid gamer and has a keen interest in the mobile computer gaming space
  • Experience within live events is desirable but not essential
  • Demonstrates effective active listening and communication skills both oral and written and proficient in Word, Excel and Powerpoint
  • Professional and persuasive telephone manner
  • The ability to understand business issues and identify opportunities
  • Ability to negotiate and build rapport effectively
  • Strong objection avoidance and objection handling skills
  • Be able to build trust and credibility amongst customers and potential customer base
  • Demonstrates ability to take ownership of tasks and to problem solve quickly creatively and positively
  • Exceptional organisational and time management skills with attention to detail
  • Works well under positive direction but has the ability to self-motivated
  • Takes pride in their work, is assertive, confident and creative
  • Ability to build excellent market and product knowledge
  • Understands the benefits of face-to-face customer engagement, which is the bedrock of exhibition sales
