Chrono is an exciting, fast-paced startup that is building a new platform to deliver incredible value to content creators through commerce. We’re looking for a passionate technical leader who is excited about our brand new platform, Nexus.

As the VP of Engineering you will be responsible for leading a group of talented engineers and aligning the technical roadmap with the mission and business objectives of the company. Reporting to the CEO, you will serve as a key stakeholder and thought leader, working strategically with a cross-functional leadership team. You will set and drive the big-picture vision while also digging deep to provide detailed technical guidance and mentorship to the team. We are seeking a technical leader that has a deep passion for, and demonstrated experience in, establishing, managing, and developing a high-performance engineering team.

We put content creators first at Chrono. We believe that creators deserve the ability to earn a living by pursuing and sharing their passion for gaming with their audiences. Through Nexus we partner with creators to provide an authentic, on-brand, ad-free storefront where they can sell the games they love.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage, inspire, and develop a passionate and inclusive engineering culture through coaching, mentorship, and introduction of best practices
  • Serve on the leadership team, providing thought leadership around business strategy and how technology can be leveraged to accelerate growth
  • Clearly articulate the technical vision, expectations, and priorities with the rest of the organization
  • Define the technical vision and strategy for the Nexus platform
  • Partner closely with Product & Design to deliver an innovative, intuitive, user-friendly e-commerce platform
  • Build trust and collaborative relationships across cross-functional teams including Product, Design, Business Development, Partnerships, and Operations to deliver a product that deeply serves the needs of of our customers
  • Introduce and document best engineering practices and philosophies, positioning the company to successfully scale both the engineering organization and platform
  • Attract, retain, and develop exceptional engineering talent

You have

  • 5+ years of experience in a hands-on technology/engineering role and 5+ years in a senior leadership role leading technical organizations
  • Experience in a variety of company sizes including both high-growth startups and larger companies where you can leverage the best parts of each
  • Experience developing business-to-consumer internet applications and platforms
  • Experience in e-commerce, payments, marketplaces, and/or related industries
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to clearly articulate difficult and complex subjects with both technical and nontechnical teammates
