We are looking for a talented individual with strong system administration skills. The successful candidate will be a badass with a strong drive, extreme resourcefulness, excellent planning and project management skills, solid communication skills, and a solid technical background.

This candidate will identify, implement and support new tools, server applications, and technology for internal and external customers, including our development team, business team, and business partners. As a vital member of the Company’s IT team, this person should be strong at assessing all studio disciplines’ technology/technological needs, providing whatever support is necessary to make each person successful.

This role reports to the IT Manager of Technical Operations. It requires a self-motivated individual with the ambition to problem-solve, learn and create mechanisms for resolving issues, communicating effectively, and working in a team environment.

Responsibilities

  • Administration of Windows and Linux servers, including installation, configuration, and maintenance on both standalone and virtual platforms
  • Administration of Storage Area Networks
  • Database administration including installation, configuration, backups, and maintenance (MySQL, SQL Server)
  • Administration of development and collaboration tools (JIRA, Confluence), including installation, configuration, integration, and maintenance
  • Develop and maintain scripts to automate server tasks using scripting languages (Perl, Python), documenting best practices and providing technical support for all IT managed software applications
  • Work closely with stakeholders and other team members to define and translate functional requirements into technical designs
  • Demonstrate a high level of customer service attention to the needs of the various studio departments and external partners, knowledge, and expertise of vendors
  • Be proactive with system monitoring and maintenance
  • Maintain backup and disaster recovery infrastructure
  • Manage user accounts on Windows and Linux systems
  • Handle Windows/Linux system troubleshooting and performance tuning
  • Provide daily reports and status updates on incidents and projects

Requirements

  • 10+ years of extensive systems administration experience with both Windows and Linux
  • Extensive experience with internal customer and external partner support and communications
  • 5-7 years of experience with server virtualization
  • Understanding of Container systems and Kubernetes. This is not a hard requirement, but the successful candidate will know what these technologies are and be able to demonstrate use case theories
  • Strong knowledge supporting MS Windows/Active Directory and Linux environments.
  • AWS EC2, VPC, PCX, S2S, AD Connector, AMI
  • Azure AAD, VNet, S2S
  • Strong knowledge and ability to support all virtualization platforms
  • Experience with DNS and DHCP
  • Strong knowledge of iSCSI, SAN, NAS, RAID, and I/O Storage Sub-Systems
  • Solid understanding of networking technologies and protocols
  • Solid understanding of network management and event logging tools
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrate analytical/problem-solving ability, time management, and organizational skills
  • Flexibility and the ability to operate under stressful, time-sensitive deadlines
  • Must be able to lift heavy computer equipment between 50-100 pounds
  • Must be prepared for occasional work hours at night and on weekends
  • A desire to work and support a diverse and inclusive environment

  • Palo Alto firewalls and PANOS
  • Cisco and Extreme Networks
  • Source Control Management administration experience, i.e., Perforce
  • Google Apps for Work or Exchange Server administration experience a big plus
  • Capability in scripting and light programming in any applicable language
  • Web development skills using common technologies such as PHP, MySQL, Apache, WordPress, and JavaScript
  • NetApp SAN experience
