As the Manager, Gaming and 3rd Party Fundraising, you will work in collaboration with the Director, Community Engagement (CE), and will be a member of the national CE channel team and broader Philanthropy team. The Manager role is a new position, created to spearhead the development of a charity gaming/streaming initiative as a significant new engagement and fundraising program

As Manager, Gaming & 3rd Party Fundraising you will:

  • Implement a sustainable strategy to build a new gaming/streaming fundraising initiative at CRC
  • Continually evaluate strategy, tactics and business plan to ensure smooth progress toward program objectives, adjusting as needed.
  • Develop and implement strategies to recruit influencers to support Canadian Red Cross’ (CRC) charity streaming program
  • Create campaign and event opportunities utilizing Influencers for the largest impact.
  • Work closely with the Director, CE to effectively communicate strategic and operational objectives within CE team and more broadly across the organization
  • Act as a key resource to CE team, and other channel/CRC partners in educating and providing information and support around this new initiative

What we are looking for:

  • 3-5+ years of successful digital fundraising, including live-stream events.
  • A gamer, with a passion and deep understanding for the community, industry, history and culture. You play games regularly and might also be a streamer or esports player. You can speak to gamers in their language.
  • Experience building a charity gaming/streaming fundraising program from scratch
  • Comfortable operating within a large, diverse matrix organization AND the gaming space
  • Ability and willingness to evangelize the gaming program within Canadian Red Cross, help ‘educate’ colleagues and the larger organization on gaming
  • Understanding of digital marketing and familiar with gaming platforms & services, especially where they intersect with streaming and charitable giving (Twitch, Tiltify, etc)
  • Able to demonstrate success in achieving financial targets through managing relationships and securing support for fundraising initiatives
  • A team player and an excellent verbal communicator, confident in managing relationships at all levels, externally and internally, as well as being able to influence and negotiate amidst conflicting demands and priorities
  • A self-starter with a passion for results and bias for action, able to work with a degree of autonomy
  • Ability to work in French a definite asset
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant discipline from a recognized academic institution, preferably in Marketing, Communications or Fund Development
