The Senior Visual Designer, Consumer Products is responsible for designing and supporting the creative merchandise development process for the licensing and e-commerce needs driven by Bungie’s Consumer Products business. This person will work with a team of Art Directors, Designers, product developers and 2D/3D Artists to bring beloved characters and their stories to the physical world and meet business needs and strategies.
Must be a seasoned visual designer and self-starter with strong conceptual thinking and problem solving capabilities. Able to own a project and see it through from beginning conceptualization to final delivery with minimal oversight. Able to work with and take direction from Creative and Art Directors and leads and other stakeholders to create powerful and thoughtful designs.
Develop, design and conceptualize all seasonal look books, style guides, and reference sheets that help inform, inspire, and guide partners to achieve visual alignment with product releases.
Create art libraries to leverage towards various merchandise applications. This includes creating patterns and swatches, as well as developing bespoke art or iconography.
Provide feedback to internal and external partners to maintain Destiny and Bungie style and brand guidelines.
Develop or create templates as needed to establish paradigms across consumer products pipelines.
Design or provide creative input for Consumer Products assets for the web, mobile, and CRM as needed to support digital/interactive items and Bungie Rewards programs.
Collaborate with agencies and cross-disciplinary teams and act as both artistic and design problem solver.
5-7 years of work related experience.
Clear and concise verbal and written communication skills.
Collaborative, and able to delegate and/or mentor others to complete an assignment with top quality results.
Bachelor's degree in Design, Graphic Design, Fine Arts, Industrial Design or related area, or equivalent experience .
Knowledge of traditional and modern graphic design techniques and styles.
Strong understanding of design fundamentals such as typography, composition, and how graphic design can be most effective in communicating ideas, big and small.
Technical aptitude and the ability to learn quickly are required, as our engines and tools use a collection of proprietary technology.
Experience with and knowledge of print production.
Mastery of Adobe Suite, including Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign
Must have an online portfolio.
Awareness of product trends in the realm of apparel, hard goods and collectibles
Knowledge of Destiny
Passion for games is strongly desired
