Bungie is seeking a Senior IT Engineer with experience in networking and remote connectivity to join our fast-paced industry-leading IT Engineering team. As a Senior IT Engineer at Bungie, you will architect, implement and support technology solutions for our studio & datacenter operations, global partner integrations and customer facing production systems. You’ll work with a team of highly experienced IT engineers to continuously improve and evolve our technology infrastructures to ensure Bungie remains at the pinnacle as an entertainment company.

With the uncertainty and rapidly changing circumstances surrounding COVID-19, most positions at Bungie are expected to onboard and work from home for a significant portion of 2021. In 2022, most Bungie employees will adopt a flexible schedule working from home part time (outside of positions identified as either 100% onsite or fully remote in WA/CA). Currently only a select range of positions are available for full-time remote work in CA or WA (please review location for details). Prospective employees located outside of CA or WA will need to establish WA state residency within 45 days of a start date. Bungie’s work from home, flexible work schedule, and remote policy is subject to change at the company’s discretion.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Engineer, deploy, and maintain networks in production datacenter and multi-site environments
  • Build out and manage networking infrastructure (switching, routing, load balancing, security) to support various projects
  • Manage and support storage infrastructure (SAN and NAS)
  • Work with team members to troubleshoot complex issues and work with lower tier support on escalations
  • Assist with ongoing training for our IT Support team and cross training for IT Engineering team members
  • Research, selection, planning, and implementation of new technologies to support scaling of applications to meet customer and business needs
  • Develop tools and scripts to assist with routine maintenance tasks
  • Plan and support the implementation of major architectural changes
  • Support for all related products and triage any issues that come up
  • Maintain documentation of systems and processes

REQUIRED SKILLS

  • Networking Administration at scale, experience with management, security best practices, automation and tooling, performance tuning, and hardware troubleshooting
  • Designing and engineering network and storage environments at scale, including redundancy planning, network connectivity design, performance troubleshooting
  • Technical proficiency in most of these areas and products: network troubleshooting, OSPF, IPSEC, BGP, VRRP, VXLan, iSCSI, RAID
  • Working knowledge of core Internet protocols and services (e.g., IP, TCP, UDP, NTP, DNS, HTTP, SMTP, SSH, SMB, NFS, syslog) required
  • Collaborates with department or team leads to work on complex issues or projects within their platform ecosystem(s)
  • Managing medium complexity projects with multiple team members and stakeholders
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to describe in details the steps and approach taken to complete your tasks
  • Knowledge of datacenter and live production best practices and experience working in live high availability customer facing production environments
  • Working with multiple vendors to select and test new technology, including sourcing demo and try buy gear

NICE-TO-HAVE SKILLS

  • Familiarity with various network hardware (Cisco, Juniper, A10, Arista, Palo Alto, etc.)
  • Familiarity with various storage hardware (NetApp, Pure, Nimble, Isilon, etc)
  • Information security experience
  • Container / Kubernetes experience
