As the Marketing & Communications Discipline Manager, you will work with the Sr. Director of Sales & Marketing and the Publishing Discipline Director to support our staff, managers, and people team partners as they grow and evolve our Publishing organization. You will recruit, teach, coach, and mentor talented teams, with a focus on cultivating a healthy and engaged organization, collaborating closely with our directors, leads, other and cross-discipline managers. You will help teams navigate the transitions that come with an evolving organization. You will help inform, implement, and improve our management practices.
While we highly value firsthand craft and technical excellence for this role, your work will primarily focus on people management and organizational health. A growth mindset is going to be your most useful trait, along with empathy and conscientiousness.
Supply support, coaching, and career development advice to publishing’s managers and staff
Find and escalate problems in your discipline, and help to create and implement solutions
Collaborate with Team Leads across Publishing to help your team, and our organization succeed
Drive and own People Development-related plans and supporting documents for the Marketing and Communications organizations
Ability to manage, coach, and mentor 10+ high performing team members.
Enthusiastic about developing inclusive, diverse, and equitable organizations
Ability to build relationships, give feedback, and handle difficult conversations, all in a diverse and multidisciplinary environment
Ability to communicate with a wide variety of stakeholders across the organization to build context for the challenges your direct reports face
Ability to effectively write and maintain clear, concise, and accurate documentation and communications
An understanding of game development culture
Experience working in publishing organizations
Interest in improving the effectiveness and efficiency of our leadership workflows
