The Destiny Global Franchise Director leads the strategic planning and development of Destiny's sales and marketing campaigns and is responsible for the successful execution of Destiny's global franchise strategy, including: AOP, QBR executive check-ins, and GTM Planning; Marketing Creative Vision Strategy; Platform and Partnerships Strategy; Sales, Pricing, and Portfolio Management; User Acquisition and CRM Planning; Marketing Campaigns and Initiatives; External Partner Agencies.

This role is also responsible for ensuring strong communication and alignment with development and publishing teams, including awareness and buy-in. All teams are required to bring our products and services to market successfully.

This role is ultimately accountable to the Destiny General Manager. It works as a key contributing member of the Destiny Business Unit to champion vital consumer insights and analytics to maximize commercial and marketing impact, customer satisfaction, and franchise profitability.

With the uncertainty and rapidly changing circumstances surrounding COVID-19, most positions at Bungie are expected to onboard and work from home for a significant portion of 2021. In 2022, most Bungie employees will adopt a flexible schedule working from home part time (outside of positions identified as either 100% onsite or fully remote in WA & CA). Currently only a select range of positions are available for full-time remote work in WA & CA (please review location for details). Prospective employees located outside of CA & WA will need to establish WA state residency within 45 days of a start date. Bungie’s work from home, flexible work schedule, and remote policy is subject to change at the company’s discretion.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work with the International Marketing Director and the Publishing Leadership Team to plan, develop, and execute the global Destiny sales and marketing strategy
  • Create, foster, and leverage platform partnerships and strategic initiatives to increase Destiny's reach and profitability
  • Research, identify, and provide innovative commercial opportunities to build long-term momentum for the Destiny franchise
  • Lead the business, account management, and sales planning team to create product strategies that enrich the Destiny brand and maximize profitability
  • Build and lead the core team of sales and marketing experts that execute Destiny franchise marketing goals and objectives
  • Work with the Destiny 2 Leadership Team and development groups to develop in-depth product and customer knowledge and product expertise throughout the publishing organization
  • Champion a shared vision, marketing, and sales KPIs, cross studio alignment, and effective communication across multiple disciplines, including product development, brand marketing, community, and PR
  • Work with brand, community, and public relations to develop and deliver Destiny's communications, community, influencer, and customer support strategy
  • Ensure international teams are integrated into planning and execution and have the autonomy and resources to deliver regional marketing and sales success
  • Help adopt and approve sales and marketing technology required to define, assess, and refine the performance of key initiatives
  • Champion actionable consumer insights, market trends, and player behaviors to answer key franchise questions, surface new opportunities, and represent our customers for key, franchise level decisions
  • Help identify and resolve key franchise level risks that impact customer satisfaction, communications, and key marketing initiatives
  • Help build and foster strong relationships with key partners, agencies, vendors, consultants, and industry experts
  • Lead the Global Account Management team to build trust and success with our external business partners and internal key stakeholders
  • Lead the Sales Planning and Analysis team to identify new market trends to drive innovative business models for Bungie products
  • Work with business development, account management, and marketing teams to create comprehensive partnerships with external platforms, services, and new media channels
  • Lead regular meetings with commercial stakeholders in Finance/Accounting, Product Management, Analytics, and Development to review and assess business performance
  • Work with our Consumer Products teams to expand Bungie ecommerce and international sales and rewards strategy
  • Collaborate with the Product Management team to create product solutions that amplify key events and launches while informing in-game commercial strategy
  • Partner with the Bungie International team on developing new business strategies to help broaden the reach of our worlds that inspire life-long friendships

REQUIRED SKILLS

  • Experience building marketing strategies and executing tactical plans
  • Proven track record of successfully taking new products to market and leading an ongoing live service
  • Ability to lead, manage, and influence large and diverse teams of people, including creative teams
  • Experience working with consumer insights and analytics teams
  • Experience working with platform, licensing, marketing, and other key business partners
  • Industry expertise, including expansive knowledge of large player communities and enthusiasm for videogames
  • Partnership experience with development, publishing, and platform partners to devise and orchestrate effective business strategy and tactics across the world based on empirical data, insightful analysis, competition benchmarks, thoughtful execution, and powerful, innovative ideas
  • Experience collaborating with games creators to successfully develop long-term franchise plans
  • Excellent communication skills, including public speaking
  • Excellent Microsoft Office skills and advanced proficiency in PowerPoint

NICE-TO-HAVE SKILLS

  • Experience in development incubation processes, franchise strategy, and tactics in which you have seen great ideas succeed and fail in execution, and learned from those experiences
  • Strong strategic thinking, problem-solving, business analysis, and data-informed decision-making capabilities
  • Be proficient with business intelligence tools to run sales reports and analysis, working closely with analytics and services through an always learning mindset
  • Organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously
