The Bungie Publishing team is looking for a Destiny 2 Marketing Director! We are searching for a proven live service marketer that will lead strategic planning, team development and execution of Destiny 2’s global marketing strategy.

You will create and execute a publishing vision that is consistent with Destiny’s brand strategy, optimized for the target market, while demonstrating best-in-class practices.

This role is ultimately responsible for driving Destiny 2 marketing alignment with development and across the full spectrum of publishing operations. Additionally, this role will work as a key contributing member of the business unit championing vital consumer insights, customer satisfaction and commercial success.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work with the Destiny 2 Leadership Team and Destiny Universe Franchise Director to champion Destiny 2’s overall go-to-market strategy

  • Work with the International Marketing Director and the Publishing Leadership Team to plan, develop, and execute global Destiny 2 marketing

  • Ensure international teams are integrated into planning and execution and have the autonomy and resources to deliver regional marketing and sales success

  • Amplify and leverage platform partnerships to increase Destiny 2’s reach and commercial success

  • Research, identify and provide innovative marketable opportunities to build long-term momentum for Destiny 2

  • Collaborate with the account management and sales planning team to foster publishing strategies that engage the addressable Destiny 2 audience

  • Continue to build and lead the core team of marketing experts that execute Destiny 2’s franchise marketing goals and objectives

  • Champion a shared publishing vision, cross studio alignment, and effective communication throughout Bungie

  • Work with brand, community, and public relation teams to develop and deliver Destiny 2 communications, community, influencer, and customer support strategy

  • Help adopt and approve marketing technology required to define, assess, and refine the performance of key initiatives  

  • Champion actionable consumer insights, market trends, and player behaviors to answer key customer questions, surface new opportunities and represent our community

  • Help identify and resolve key risks that impact customer satisfaction, communications, and critical marketing initiatives

  • Help build and foster strong relationships with key partners, agencies, vendors, consultants, and industry experts

  • Lead regular meetings with key stakeholders in Finance/Accounting, Product Management, Analytics, and Development to review and assess business performance

  • Work with our Consumer Products teams to expand Bungie ecommerce and product sales

  • Collaborate with the Product Management team to create product solutions that amplify key events and launches while informing in-game commercial strategy

REQUIRED SKILLS

  • Lead with empathy, vision, and high integrity

  • Experience building best-in-class live service marketing strategies and executing tactical plans

  • Experience building and leading a highly effective marketing team

  • Ability to lead, manage, and influence large and diverse teams of people, including creative teams

  • Experience working with consumer insights and analytics teams

  • Industry expertise, including expansive knowledge of large player communities and enthusiasm for videogames

  • Partnership experience with development, publishing, and platform partners to devise and orchestrate effective business strategy and tactics across the world based on empirical data, insightful analysis, competition benchmarks, thoughtful execution, and powerful, innovative ideas

  • Experience collaborating with development teams to successfully develop long-term growth

  • Excellent communication skills, including public speaking

  • Excellent Microsoft Office skills and advanced proficiency in PowerPoint

NICE-TO-HAVE SKILLS

  • Experience in developing marketing innovation and tactics in which you have seen great ideas succeed and fail in execution and learned from those experiences

  • Demonstrable strong strategic thinking, problem-solving, business analysis, and data-informed decision-making capabilities

  • Be proficient with business intelligence tools working closely with analytics and services through an always learning mindset

  • Organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously

Most Bungie full-time employees will adopt a digital first approach allowing remote work in Bungie approved locations (outside of positions identified as 100% onsite in Bellevue/Seattle, or individuals preferring a hybrid/flex environment). Prospective full-time employees located outside of CA, CO, DC, FL, GA, IL, MA, MD, MN, NC, NJ, NY, OR, TN, TX, UT, VA, WA, or WI will need to establish residency in one of the states we are compliant in within 45 days of a start date.
